Perks for the Parents

A beautiful family home in the heart of family-friendly Wandsworth, with spacious living areas and a charming leafy garden. It sleeps 7. This is a great family home, with plenty of space for the kids and a small double room that’s ideal for a nanny or au pair. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Wandsworth Common, where you can stroll through to the popular Northcote Road area, full of family-friendly pubs, bustling weekend markets and a toy shop.

Why Kids Love it

There are no toddler toys or books here, as this home isn't suitable for children under 4. (One of the many benefits is the peacefully quiet setting and respectful neighbours - noise definitely carries around here, so please be mindful of the rest of the street). Wandsworth has plenty of park and playgrounds all around for older kids and teens. Hang out at the playgrounds in Wandsworth Common, or jump in an Uber up to Battersea Park (15 minutes) where there is a children’s zoo, Go-Ape zipline center and a huge adventure playground.

Things to Know

No parties or smoking. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. A dog is part of the family here so if you're beset by allergies, this may not be the home for you. Pets may be welcome on request. The second bedroom comes with a small double bed, more comfortably suited to 1 adult. If you're staying during the chillier months, it's worth noting that the top floor bathroom doesn't have central heating. The trampoline is not currently in use. Two bikes are available to borrow during your stay. There is a gas BBQ and a coal BBQ in the back yard.

About the Location

The house is located in leafy Wandsworth, south-west London. With its generous garden, nearby parks, and cottage-style windows framed by foliage, you'll experience all the joys of a countryside retreat, just a stone's throw from the plush shops and cute cafes of Wandsworth Common. A short stroll over the green brings you to Wandsworth Common Station, for an easy trip into Central London. Meanwhile, a pleasant twenty-minute walk to Clapham South offers subway links, trendy bars and top-notch brunch spots. It’s around half an hour by train into Waterloo or 15 minutes’ drive over the river into Chelsea. Heathrow airport is 1 hour’s drive.

Accommodation Details

The property has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. There’s an elegant front living room and a gorgeous kitchen/dining room at the back, plus a second sitting room. Upstairs on the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a bathtub. The top floor boasts another bedroom and ensuite shower room. The kitchen leads out to the furnished patio offering al fresco dining options, a decadent rattan sofa and a luscious stretch of well-kept lawn, bordered by leafy shrubs and tumbling flowers.

Style Notes

Country charm. Light-soaked rooms, a pastel palette, and a charmingly rustic aesthetic create a pretty and relaxing space that’s an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Sweeping bay windows, high ceilings and an open-plan kitchen create a spacious living space for the whole family, accentuated by neutral tones and natural materials. We love the large satsuma sofa, the elegant fireplace in the living room and the historic picture rail detailing.

Leafy Wandsworth, in London's south-west corner, is known for it's family-friendly feel, giving it the nickname of 'Nappy Valley'. Weekend markets fill the streets, buzzing Northcote Road packs out with family diners, and kids scoot on down to Wandsworth Common for fresh air - all just a short stroll away from the River Thames.
