This compact stone cottage, one of six in a rural area of Andalusia, sleeps 2 adults and 1 baby and is in a wonderful spot for sun worshippers and active families alike. Near to fantastic walking territory, it’s not just a rural retreat but caters well for families with a pool, games, bikes and plenty more on site to hire, including donkeys for guided treks. The residence itself is a classic rustic cottage, with wooden beams, a sunny terrace with views and plenty of typical tiles. It’s particularly suited to those with a small child who can sleep in a travel cot. Visit the pretty town of Alájar for food, attend local fiestas and festivals or explore the countryside nearby for a relaxing family break.

Alájar, Andalusia

Whitewashed cottages and mountain views

This pretty whitewashed village is one of the jewels in the Sierra de Aracena natural park, the largest park in Andalusia and is inland and in the mountains. It’s a great foodie spot, with restaurants and bars serving up the best of Andalusian cuisine.
