A stunning mountain retreat in North Carolina, with a dedicated game room, inspirational mountain views and a home gym. It sleeps 11 + 2. The hosts have 2 young children, so the house is well set-up for families, with kids plates and utensils for stress-free family meals and lots of space for everyone to have their own privacy. Parents will love the gym for at-home workouts, while those who need to work can take over the upstairs office for some quiet time. The stand-out feature here is the beautiful deck, which has a BBQ, firepit and outdoor seating overlooking the hills - the perfect spot for your morning coffee or a glass of local wine after the kids go to bed.

Why Kids Love it

Babies, toddlers, tweens and teens will all love this property. There’s lots of space for little ones to run inside and outside safely on the 2000 sqft deck, where they’ll find water play tables and a massive sandbox with fresh play sand. There’s also heaps of safe, private land to explore and play outdoor games. Older kids can hike the grounds or chill out and play video games in their own upstairs bonus room (which has a 65 inch TV, game console and beanbag chairs). There's a huge stock of family board and card games with a breakfast nook/game room perfect for family nights. The hosts are happy to accommodate any other requests for families so please ask!

Things to Know

Minimum stay: XXX nights. Safety note: there is a no-stairs access option via the back door of the house to the main (upstairs) floor with the kitchen, primary living room, as well as a full bathroom and bedroom for elderly guests staying with the family. There are stairs gates for the 2 staircases in the house. This home is fully equipped with everything you need to create meals and entertain friends, including Ice Cream Machine, Bread Machine, Kitchen Aid Pro mixer, Waffle Iron, and some starter ingredients. There is a Peloton and commercial grade treadmill with gym, weights and workout bench. The property is surrounded by privately owned land. One person is staying in the apartment unit next door who keeps to themselves and does not use the common areas.

About the Location

The residence is located conveniently between Asheville and Hendersonville in North Carolina. Car rental is essential to get around in this rural area. It’s 25 minutes (north) to downtown Asheville where you’ll find lots of eateries, parks and museums. Visit Biltmore Estate (30 minutes) for beautiful walks in landscape gardens or downtown Hendersonville (10 minutes) where there’s a children’s museum and aquarium. For family days out, take a trip to The Gorge adventure park (20 minutes). Asheville airport is 15 minutes away; Charlotte international airport is 2 hours away.

Accommodation Details

Surrounded by 500 acres of private, undeveloped land, this gorgeous home features 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. There are 2 living areas and 2 dining areas, as well as a separate kitchen with a large central island. There are 4 dedicated bedrooms as well as 2 rooms that can be converted into additional sleeping quarters for a total of 6 bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms have kingsize beds; the children’s bedroom has 2 single beds. Currently the final 2 bedrooms are used as a ‘bonus room’ and the ‘upstairs office’ (which have either a double bed or an airbed on request). There’s also a full crib in the primary bedroom with fresh sheets and crib mattress. One of the downstairs bathrooms has a shower/tub combo perfect for bath time with little ones, along with a separate primary bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower and jetted jacuzzi tub for 2 (with amazing views).

Style Notes

Rural retreat. This house is full of light and beautiful windows framing those spectacular views. It has a relaxed feel, with art and photography from around the world and lots of areas to relax and take in the landscape. The heart of the home is the amazing kitchen, with hardwood floors, stone tiles, and massive south-facing picture windows for sunsets you'll never want to miss. We love the beautiful old piano, the pops of red adding a modern touch to the natural color scheme and the rustic exposed stone wall details.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
