Austin, Texas

The live music capital

Where better to introduce your kids to live music than in Austin, Texas? The summer sees an instrument petting zoo at Childrens Day Art Park, where they can test out some tunes on what they see, all run by Austin Symphony Orchestra, along with open air concerts of all description. Long hot summers are the norm, and the area’s natural hot springs and pools, and the city's sprinkler parks, are the perfect place to cool off. Nature lovers will enjoy peach picking, hiking nature trails and coming across the real live footprints of dinosaurs in creeks. When dusk falls, watch the bats at Congress Avenue Bridge. It’s an alternative take on nightlife, but that’s Austin...
