This modern, luxurious tree house loft in the Atlantic Rainforest near Bahia, Brazil, sleeps 4 in the main house and the next door bungalow. It’s romantic and inspiring, with cutting edge style juxtaposed with the natural setting. Sit on the terrace and look out at banana trees and rainforest; kayak to deserted beaches, explore waterfalls and hidden places and book capoeira classes. The residence comes with a part-time cook/maid who can help shop and create authentic meals. Due to the minimal balcony rails, and bedroom set-up, we’d recommend it for families with older children only.

What we love

  • The feeling of being at one with nature, with the forest views and fabulous semi-outdoor showers
  • It’s modern with timeless touches: it’s made from 100-year-old reclaimed wood and has a traditional piassava roof covering the deck
  • It’s very glamorous, with Chair One chairs in the dining area, hammock on the sundeck and a divine pool
  • The residence is fully private, not overlooked, and has a garden and forest surrounding it
  • There’s a fully-equipped kitchen plus mini bar and you can request that the kitchen is stocked in advance
  • There’s also a private pool, garden and yoga deck
  • It’s a wonderful relaxing space, with an open plan kitchen/diner, large lounge and home cinema plus sunset deck with hammocks

Things to know

Bahia, Brazil

Brazil’s most glamorous beaches

In a country known for its beauty (and its beauties), Bahia is the most gorgeous spot of all. Known as the most glamorous state in the country, it’s where the locals go for their holidays, seeking out candy-colored cottages hung with hammocks just steps from the perfect sea. The coastline here is diverse, with surf villages, trendy towns and wild empty bays backed by rainforests and you’ll find anything from upmarket restaurants with extensive wine lists to beach shacks serving fresh fish baked in leaves along its extensive coast. The best thing of all? Kids are the all-access pass you need to make the most of the country, welcomed everywhere and included in everything.
