A stunning house with a private heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, situated within the beautiful Barbizon Village just 45 minutes from Paris, France. It sleeps 12 + 2. Bordered by the forest of Fontainebleau, historic Barbizon was home to 19th-century landscape painters Théodore Rousseau, Jean-Baptiste Corot, Charles-Francois Daubigny and Jean-François Millet, who were inspired by the picturesque landscapes. Today the village offers a wide range of shops, art galleries, bars, cafes and gourmet restaurants, all just a short walk away from the house. Visit the traditional weekend market at Milly la Forêt, explore the picturesque Fontainebleau forest, or simply relax by the pool while the kids play with all the outdoor games and toys.
Why Kids Love it
This is a great home for active kids of all ages: they can play out on the swings, take turns on the slide, splash around in the heated saltwater filtration swimming pool, or challenge the family to a game of tennis, table tennis or mini football. There’s also plenty of toys available for indoor entertainment. Right by the house you’ll find access to the beautiful Fontainebleau forest, and there’s a place for horse riding next door. Cribs, baby bathtubs and toddler high chairs are available at no extra cost. Older kids and teens can try hiking, running, biking or rock climbing in the forest, or visiting the historic Fontainebleau Castle.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 2 nights. Safety notes: the property is on a private park surrounded by walls, edges and secured by locked gates. The pool features new safety barriers and a gate. Inside, the stairs have 2 safety gates and another one is available on the first floor. There is a balcony that is accessible from 2 rooms, there is a guardrail but children should not be left unattended on it. The pool is in operation from May to September. There are 2 air mattresses available on request for children, if needed. The house has high speed Wi-Fi internet, a Smart TV with 500 French and international TV channels, Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. A desk and flipchart are also available for corporate retreats. There is central heating in winter and silent fans for summer (but no air conditioning). Parking is available for 6 cars - car rental is recommended. This is a family home so loud music or parties are not allowed.

The residence is located in Barbizon, just under an hour away from Paris, France. The nearest airport is Charles-de Gaulle in Paris. You can access the city via trains from Melun (25 minutes) or Fontainebleau (40 minutes).Trains leave from Gare de Lyon every 20 minutes. The beautiful area of Barbizon is bordered by the forest of Fontainebleau, which owes its fame to the 19th-century landscape painters who lived there. Their artistic movement, the Barbizon School (1830 to 1875), was considered a precursor of Impressionism. The artists appreciated the tranquility of this peaceful village and the beauty of the surrounding nature. Walking along the main street of Barbizon village, you'll find a succession of beautiful homes, shops, restaurants and art galleries. The edge of the forest in Barbizon is the departure point for a way-marked walking trail exploring the scenery that inspired these great landscape painters.
Accommodation Details
This recently renovated home has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. On the ground floor, there are 2 reception rooms centered by an open-sided fireplace, with a dining area and garden room on one side and a separate cozy lounge area facing the lawn with views of the sunset. The modern high-end kitchen features integrated NEFF or Leibher appliances, as well as a central island with integrated breakfast bar for 5. Upstairs, the 3 main bedrooms (2 with a kingsize bed, the other with a queensize bed) feature ensuite bathrooms. The fourth bedroom has a double bed, while the fifth bedroom has 2 double beds and a double-level mezzanine to accommodate kids or adults. This cosy mezzanine is secured by 2 robust aluminum rail guards and the room has a new double sofabed and 2 new single sofabeds. Three of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and the main bathroom also includes the washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside, there’s a BBQ, a private tennis court (with artificial grass), and plenty of place to lounge in the sun.

Country meets contemporary. This historic home has been recently renovated with a modern design, high end appliances and a whole host of safety features for families. The stylish kitchen blends dark wood, black worktops and chic copper hardware, while the neutral bedrooms boast a simple color palette to create a calming place to retreat. The unique loft rooms boast characterful arching ceilings, while the exterior retains some traditional wooden shutters. We love the open-sided fireplace, the art-inspired rug in the living area and the super sleek dining chairs.
