Why Kids Love it

Bath itself is a great city to visit with kids, with The Egg, a children’s theatre, in the heart of the city, beautiful buildings and a large park, Victoria Park, with a huge playground. Specialist boutiques in the city include toy shops. Boat rental for days on the river is available nearby. Walking tours of the city offer an interesting way to explore, and street entertainment outside the cathedral is often great family fun. The city’s museums often run trails that appeal to children, and the old Roman Baths are likely to be a high point of any visit.

Style Notes

Curiouser and curiouser. This grand house is a Grade II listed building built from the iconic golden Bath Stone and was built in the late 1700s. Set in the oldest part of the city, it includes luxurious and grand rooms that draw inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, with tumbling flowers and teacups in a magical dining room, and upside down lamps in the living room. As the sun goes down, the city glows gold in the dimming sun. We love the inspiring and eccentric idea behind the decor, the location in the buzziest part of Bath, and the sweet garden for afternoon tea in the sunshine.

Stay Beyond ..
Member since November 18, 2016
StayBeyond was born out the simple idea of finding perfect locations to bring families together to enjoy precious holiday time. Hotels, while offering up five-star luxury, separates families. Separate rooms with separate keys. Rooms on different floors. Breakfasts at different times. And having to organise a time to meet in the lobby… What a family holiday needs is a family home. We wanted to create a holiday experience the whole family can be part of; the freedom to have breakfast together in your pyjamas, cosy nights spent in front of the fire, and drinks in the garden while the children play on the lawn. StayBeyond want these special moments to be part of every holiday experience, without having to compromise on the creature comforts and little luxuries that come with the hotel stay. Whether your family is just a pair, or includes Great Auntie Marge and the family dog, we hope you wake up feeling at home, surround by those that mean the most.

Bath, North Somerset

Roman baths and country parks

Bath is one of England's most glorious small cities, and ideal for a visit with kids. Stroll streets of honey-colored stone buildings, browse boutiques and farmer's markets and play in the huge playgrounds of Victoria Park. The Egg Theater puts on spectacular shows just for the kids, while a trip to the Roman Baths - where locals swam up until the 1970s - is likely to be a high point of any trip. Add to that afternoon tea with scones and jam, and a trip to the Thermae Bath Spa (over 12s only), and you'll have a perfect stay in the city.
