This simple, calm apartment on the first floor of a townhouse in Bedford-Stuyvesant is well set up for those with young children. It has a modern kitchen and bathroom and an array of period details. On the ground floor of a newly-renovated Brownstone, it is in a family-friendly neighborhood and is well located for exploring Brooklyn. There is a washer dryer and dishwasher. There are also a number of wonderful cafés, restaurants and bars within a 5-10 minute walk. The hosts can provide you with a full list of recommendations for your visit.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment has plenty of toys and books for toddlers and newborns. It is a short walk from local playgrounds and the kids room is bright and quiet with a crib and twin/single bed. There is a high chair, baby toys/books and newborn bouncer, bumbo, and boppy pillows can be provided on request. There are several parks nearby with swings, play gyms and a splash pad in the summer months. The public library is a short walk and offers weekly kids programming and the Brooklyn Children's Museum is just a 7-minute walk away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. The apartment is on the ground level and is easily accessible with strollers and luggage with no stairs. Street parking is available. The children’s bedroom is at the back of the apartment next to the master bedroom - note that you have to walk through the master bedroom to access it. The residence is usually home to a dog, who will be away during your stay. There are 2 other tenants in the building, both of whom are very quiet and professional.

About the Location

The residence is in Bedford-Stuyvesant in central Brooklyn, where families who have lived in the area for generations coexist with young families moving into the district. It is a diverse and historical neighborhood and is well connected with Brooklyn and Manhattan at large. The street is quiet and is a 7-minute walk to the A train which runs into lower Manhattan in around 25 minutes. The area is a 35-minute drive from JFK and a 25- minute drive from Laguardia.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom, 1 floor apartment is on the ground floor of a newly-renovated brownstone. It has a large living area, an eat-in kitchen, and a bathroom with shower and baby bath. The master bedroom has a queensize bed and the children’s bedroom has a crib and twin/single bed. There is no outside space.

Style Notes

Calm and contemporary. This simple and eclectic apartment has white walls and a modern kitchen and bathroom. An exposed white brick wall and original fireplaces hark back to the history of the pre-war building. We love the children’s toys and books, the soothing color palette and the books stacked neatly in the fireplace.

Originally from Texas and California, we met in New York City in 2008 and now live in Brooklyn with our 1 year old. We love living in Brooklyn, but also love adventuring away! We love taking local trips upstate, visiting the west coast, and exploring abroad in the summers. Emerson is an educator and I work from home while spending time with our curious son. We love walking to the park, the library, the children's museum, and frequenting our many local cafes in the afternoons. We joined Kid & Coe because we much prefer staying in a home over a hotel when we travel, and we love sharing our home with others.

Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Diverse and up-and-coming

Between Fort Greene, Williamsburg, Prospect Heights and Bushwick, Bed-Stu is one of Brooklyn’s most up-and-coming neighborhoods. Expect brownstones on tree-lined streets, sidewalks busy with families and a commute into Midtown that takes around half an hour. In the summer, the diverse community get together at street parties on the block and picnics in the local parks.
