Perks for the Parents

This modern 3-bedroom house includes plenty for those travelling with young children and is in a prime location in central London. It has a fully fitted kitchen and open plan living space so you can keep eyes on your little ones whilst cooking. Plenty of items for children are provided so you can travel light. A welcome basket full of goodies is provided and the kitchen is fully stocked with tea coffee, sugar, oil, herbs and spices. Both bedrooms have ample space for a travel crib. The bathtub includes anti slip technology on the base for safety. Local shops are only a moments’ walk away. Bedrooms are located on the first floor, so once the kids are asleep you can relax downstairs and not worry about disturbing them. Luxury amenities by Aromatherapy Associates and Pecksniff’s plus soft towels and gentle bed linen are included.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts can provide a lot of items for children including a high chair, travel crib, stroller, toys and books. One bathroom is located on the ground floor so kids don't need to go upstairs to use the toilet. There are no steps to access the house so it is very accessible with a buggy; there is space in the entrance hall to keep it tucked away without having to collapse it every time. Nearby child-friendly attractions include Covent Garden’s street performers, Coram Fields playgrounds and city farm (5 minutes’ walk away), The British Museum and the theatre district. King's Cross, for Harry Potter’s Platform 9 ¾, is a 15-minute walk away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. There is 1 straight staircase up to the first floor with a glass wall; stair gates can be provided on request. The hosts will greet you on arrival and are available 24-hours a day for requests, assistance and concierge services. There is a safe for any precious items. Fresh fruits, flowers and a quality selection of goods are provided on arrival (including a bottle of wine, juice, milk, eggs, bread, butter, crisps, chocolates, biscuits, sweets and more), cooking spices, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sugar, tea, coffee free of charge, soft cleaning materials for your daily needs. A housekeeping service is available on request.

About the Location

The residence is in Bloomsbury, WC1, in the heart of London and well located for exploring the city’s museums, shops, theatres, restaurants, parks, the river and more. There are easy transport links nearby including Russell Square tube station, 1 street away. King's Cross, Euston and International St Pancras Stations are a 5-minute taxi ride or 15-minute walk away. There are plenty of playgrounds and green spaces nearby along with cafés, restaurants and supermarkets. Car rental is not recommended - the public transport links nearby are more than sufficient - but there is street parking right outside the property (very rare in central London).

Accommodation Details

This modern house has 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and a twin. There are 2 spacious bathrooms in the house, 1 with bath tub and large overhead shower. Other features include under floor heating, Samsung 48″ Full HD Smart LED TV with Netflix and HDMI connectivity, WiFi, SONOS audio, skylight windows, LED lights and solar heating system to help save the environment, washer/dryer (detergent and softener included), large dishwasher (tablets included), iron and board, hair dryers in each bedroom. The living room opens onto a secluded cobbled mews street, a stone’s throw from the centre of town and the bustling West End, but itself a peaceful retreat on a calm residential street.

Style Notes

Bright, stylish and modern. Furniture and décor was chosen to be functional and beautiful. Comfort was a top priority: bespoke, handmade beds are exclusive to Merino Hospitality with mattresses layered with Merino wool, white cotton felt, cambric, silk and with individually pocketed springs to make you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud. The house is full of light with windows and skylights in the bedrooms and double stable doors in the living room that open up onto the cobbled street. Wooden flooring throughout so any little spills can be easily mopped up (plus under floor heating to keep your toes warm when wandering around with no shoes on.)

Born and bred in London and married to a Brazilian! My husband Caio and I met in Switzerland while both studying Hotel Management at Les Roches School of Hotel Management. We shared the same vision of innovating within the industry and making it a better place to work and improve guest experiences. This led to us establishing our own company in 2012 and Merino Hospitality was born. That was followed one year later by the birth of our first son Jonas, so it was a busy period in the Merino household! We all love to travel and Jonas has already been on 12 flights across the Atlantic in his 2 short years! Our favourite destination as a family was Anna Maria Island in Florida and as a couple we loved Singapore. Jonas is mad about anything to do with Minions and the wall stickers in the secret kids den are a tribute to him! Currently his favourite thing to do is going to the farm to see all the animals and being read to - his favourite story is The Jungle Book! We joined Kid & Coe to offer our house to families seeking a city break in London in a family friendly environment. Having a child of our own helps us to understand what parents (and children) look for during a holiday. Hotels do not offer the space for family socialising and work out more expensive as you often need multiple rooms. Plus, who wants to be tucked up in bed at 7pm with the kids, all cramped in the same room, when you could be having a glass of wine and watching a movie while they are sound asleep - the perfect wind down after a day sightseeing in our great capital! Welcome to the world of Merino Hospitality, our doors are open to welcome you - step into the adventure!

The Old Coach House was a great spot from which to explore London with our 16-month baby. The apartment is nicely outfitted with comfortable, stylish furniture, modern appliances, and nice extra touches like a well-stocked snack basket and Sonos speakers in most of the rooms. The road is quiet and allows free parking. There is a steep stairwell that is not safety-gated, so you can't let your child explore unattended. Otherwise the unit is pretty well child-proofed and comes with a nice assortment of toys. Would definitely recommend this apartment.

Bloomsbury, London

High culture, private gardens and the city’s best playground

Refined Bloomsbury is a romantic take on London, all colonnaded streets, private gardens and black railings. Get to know it a little and you’ll find culture, intrigue and excitement, from the playground at Coram’s Fields to exhibitions at the British Museum and British Library, and Harry Potter’s platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross station. Quirky cafes, independent booksellers and specialist food shops make it a fun place to shop in the heart of the city.
