Perks for the Parents

This lovely family home in historic Whittier, one of Boulder’s most enchanting and desirable neighborhoods, is just a few blocks from awesome parks, pools, hiking and biking trails, and all the great shops and cafés of Pearl Street. Lovingly restored and expanded, it is all set up for a family to enjoy. Whole Foods, Target, and the 29th Street Mall are minutes away by bike or car, and Richard Freeman's famed yoga workshop is only 3 blocks from the house. The charming neighborhood offers a great taste of Boulder living, with bike rental stores nearby so you can explore like a local too.

Why Kids Love it

The house was rebuilt with kids in mind, as they will have plenty of space to play in, whether it's in the expansive yard, spacious bedrooms, or the open-plan basement. The latter is a great place to relax, away from the others if needed. Kids love to eat and color at the adjustable table in the kitchen with seating for 4. The yard boasts a full-lot, unique to the neighborhood, providing plenty of space to run and play together. Kids especially enjoy the tree house, Little Tikes double slide play structure and sparking clean hot tub. Inside the house, a few toys, coloring supplies and books are provided for younger guests, including an art corner and board games.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. Weekly and reduced occupancy discounts are available. Kids should be supervised around the hot tub and tree house at all times. The charcoal grill is not for guest use - the hosts provide a gas grill on the lower patio. No smoking or candle burning permitted on the property. The fireplace may be extremely hot, even hours after use - please use the safety gate provided. A Sonos system allows you to listen to music throughout the house. The home is walking distance of some of Boulder's best venues for shopping, eating and drinking: a 10-minute stroll will take you to fantastic coffee shops, award-winning restaurants, yoga studios, pizzerias, vegetarian restaurants, farm-to-table specialists, brunch venues, music venues and more. The owners have a dog, who will be away during your stay. Maximum occupancy is 6, due to Boulder regulations.

About the Location

B Cycle rents bikes from a self-service station 3 blocks away, while Full Cycle, nearby at 18th and Pearl, has mountain bikes. Boulder airport is a 10-minute drive away while Denver International Airport is 50 minutes away.

After seeing the world throughout my 20's and early 30's, I felt drawn to return to my native Colorado, and thus made beautiful Boulder my permanent home. Though my family and I love our hometown, we also have a passion for travel. In 2013, with our two young kids in tow, we rambled throughout SE Asia for 10 months. We spent summer 2015 and spring 2016 on Maui. We loved our time in Paris, Sardinia and Copenhagen during summer 2016. St. John, Maui and O'ahu were fabulous in 2017. We'll ring in 2018 in Hong Kong followed by another 3 month stint in SE Asia. While we travel, we often rent our house to other like-minded families. They fully enjoy our home, and we are confident you will too. During our fabulous journeys, we meet many amazing people who define what it means to be truly gracious, open hearted hosts. We are inspired by their generosity and hope to provide the same to you. If you'd like to learn more about us and our SE Asian travels, feel free to check out my blog on Wordpress: Away We Go Bye Bye.
