Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom cottage includes a spacious sitting room, open kitchen and dining with farm table seating 4-6 and a sunny conservatory leading out to a balcony. There is a master bedroom with queensize bed and fireplace, a single bedroom with a single bed and trundle bed suitable for 2 children, and a mezzanine above the kitchen/diner with 2 twinsize beds. The spacious family bathroom has a clawfoot bathtub with shower curtain.

Style Notes

Country modern. This characterful stone cottage with original doors and decorative windows is quintessentially English. White floors, monochrome decor and clean, updated spaces are made cozy by the wood-burning fireplaces, burlap rugs, sheepskins, and slate and wooden floors throughout. There’s an eclectic mix of antique and mid century furniture and notes of color in the graphic quilts, decorative tiles and green conservatory. We love the horse photography and baskets of logs.

Hi, I'm Joanna. I live in Bruton, Somerset with my husband Crispin and our 2 children Sascha (8) and Magnus (5). We rent out the cottage at the bottom of our garden to families wanting to come and stay in the Somerset countryside. We like food, wine and good design and hope that our cottage reflects that. I'm always on hand to help out and advise our guests on how to get the most out of their stay.

Cute village with lovely things todo in the area, Joanna very friendly and a great host. Very lovely and charming place to stay, comfortable but could do with better lighting for the afternoon/evenings in the main room and a touch more comfort underfoot. A heated towel rail and a vanity stand of some sort in the bathroom would help too. Would highly recommend.

We loved the Bruton residence! We had a short weekend break from London, and it was perfectly set up for us and our two kids. Spacious living areas, supremely comfy beds, and an amazing bathtub. The 'sunroom' attached to the terrace was the best part- perfect for a morning cup of coffee with early to rise little ones. Joanna was wonderful and sent us lots of local tips for restaurants and events. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend. Thanks Joanna!

Bruton, North Somerset

A creative haven in the countryside

A little bit country, a little bit rock'n'roll, Bruton is one of the must-see towns in Somerset. Blessed with an artistic pedigree, it has plenty of art galleries and cafes to entertain all comers (At the Chapel and the FMLY Store in particular), while the art gallery Hauser & Wirth adds a dash of glamour. Play in the woods, visit Frome's Sunday market and enjoy the quirky eccentricity of the English countryside.
