Perks for the Parents

This cozy beach house, 3 blocks from the beach, is an ideal place to stay with a small family in Cape May, and is walking distance from shopping, restaurants and all of the town’s key attractions. You can hear the ocean waves from the front porch. It is just 2 blocks to the up-and-coming West Cape May area and 3 blocks from the famous Congress Hall and Washington Mall. After a day at the beach, relax on the front porch and watch the horses and carriages go by.

Why Kids Love it

There is so much to appeal to kids: the decor and design in the house, which is set up for kids with children’s dishes and kids movies and books, plus the local area. The home is a short walk to the beach or central for bicycle rides through the magical Cape May. The porch is a great place to play or even sleep on, and there is a dedicated kids room with twin beds. Local family attractions beyond the beach include a nature center running summer activities and a local zoo.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week, Saturday to Saturday (June to September only), with 3-night stays possible in the off-season. There is off street parking for 3 cars - crucial in the busy Summer months. The property is all on 1 level.

About the Location

Cape May is accessible from Philadelphia (2 hours), New York (3 hours) and Washington DC (3.5 hours). There is an airport in Cape May and the closest large airport is in Philadelphia, 2 hour’s drive away. Car hire is recommended but not essential in this location - the town is walkable.

Style Notes

Vintage beach cottage decor with sprinklings of Mid Century modern furniture. The home is almost exclusively decorated and furnished with antiques including vintage tin signs, Jenny Lind beds and artwork from the early 20th Century. The home is bright, clean and freshly-painted. We love the raspberry pink sofa in the lounge.

We enjoy traveling to the east coast. In particular, we love Cape May, NJ. Cape May is a special town and the Nation's oldest seaside resort. Cape May is best enjoyed by families. Our favorite activities include going to the beach, taking nature hikes, cooking, going fishing or crabbing, and reading a good book on a rainy afternoon. We joined Kid & Coe because we appreciate a unique and stylish vacation home that caters to families. We hope that you find our vacation home enchanting and accommodating to your family.

Hi - My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Blue Claw Cottage. The house was in an awesome location, and very close to dining/shopping/beach. We loved the home, and it was perfect for our 2 year old daughter, would definitely recommend staying here!

Cape May, New Jersey

The nation’s oldest seaside resort

One of the Jersey Shore’s most beautiful spots, Cape May has beaches, promenades, historic houses and restaurants to suit all the family. Search for ‘Cape May diamonds’ on Sunset Beach - polished quartz stones that wash up in the tide - or play on any of its other four beaches. Meet giraffes and flamingos at the local free zoo, take a whale watching trip or visit the fantastic Nature Center of Cape May to hunt for ghost crabs by moonlights and participate in an array of family activities.
