This large and lovely 100-year-old home is walking distance from parks, florists and candy stores and sleeps up to 9 + 1. Fully remodelled from top to bottom, it has a full floor dedicated to kids, with a Thomas the Train set and American Girl dolls plus a home gym and cinema room. We love the little touches: the white-tiled bathroom with its antique-look walk-in shower, the window seats and the wooden floors, perfect for toy cars. Spend your days exploring the city - just ten minutes’ away by car - rocketing up to the top of the Space Needle, paddling on Lake Union and watching some of the area’s stellar sportsmen in action at the nearby baseball, soccer and football stadia.

My husband and I met in college and have been married for 18 years, and have lived in our current home for the past 15 years. We have four children: 3 girls - ages 15, 13 and 11 and 1 boy - age 7. I am a marketer for a high tech company; my husband is an entrepreneur. We love traveling, food and wine and are always trying new restaurants in Seattle - - many within walking distance from our home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. We remodeled our home from top to bottom (all 4 floors) and it is the perfect home for our family of 6, with room for guests. While we're vacationing we'd love to let another family use our house as home base for exploring Seattle. Let us know if we can help answer any questions!

Kerri was a great host and the house in perfect condition for our stay. She had excellent recommendations for restaurants and local sites to visit during our time in Seattle. Her home emitted the warmth of their family and was an ideal way for our family to feel like a local in a quintessential Seattle neighborhood!

Capitol Hill, Seattle

Coffee houses and counter culture

This partly residential area is the go-to spot for restaurants and bars in Seattle. Just east of the city center and close to Lake Union, its creative and cultural community has a reputation for knowing how to have a good time. Families make use of the many green spaces, the coffee shops and candy stores that line the streets and the easy bus routes into downtown Seattle.
