City chic. This gorgeous 1908 single family home has much to offer as a relaxing, peaceful base to explore Seattle – quiet at night but close to the action if you want to experience it. It’s a house full of historic charm with high ceilings, decorative glass and an antique staircase. Light pours in from the large, shuttered windows and white walls and neutral furnishings add to the relaxed feel. The kids’ bedrooms have splashes of colour and artwork and there’s a window seat / book corner in one. We love the designer light fitting in the living room, the stainless steel and white kitchen and the lovely location.

My husband and I met in college and have been married for 24 years, and have lived in our current home for the past 20 years. We have four children: 3 girls - ages 20, 18 and 16 and 1 boy - age 12. We love traveling, food and wine and are always trying new restaurants in Seattle - - many within walking distance from our home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. We remodeled our home from top to bottom (all 4 floors) and it is the perfect home for our family of 6, with room for guests. While we're vacationing we'd love to let another family use our house as home base for exploring Seattle. Let us know if we can help answer any questions!

Kerri was a great host and the house in perfect condition for our stay. She had excellent recommendations for restaurants and local sites to visit during our time in Seattle. Her home emitted the warmth of their family and was an ideal way for our family to feel like a local in a quintessential Seattle neighborhood!

Capitol Hill, Seattle

Coffee houses and counter culture

This partly residential area is the go-to spot for restaurants and bars in Seattle. Just east of the city center and close to Lake Union, its creative and cultural community has a reputation for knowing how to have a good time. Families make use of the many green spaces, the coffee shops and candy stores that line the streets and the easy bus routes into downtown Seattle.
