Our family is very active! We hail from Poland and Canada and have lived in the U.S. for six years now. We love skiing, biking, and swimming. Summers we spend at the lake or up in the mountains, and winters we go skiing both locally and in Whistler. We have a wonderful home which we were told by a Kid & Coe member would be perfect for sharing with families like ours while we're away!

Capitol Hill, Seattle

Coffee houses and counter culture

This partly residential area is the go-to spot for restaurants and bars in Seattle. Just east of the city center and close to Lake Union, its creative and cultural community has a reputation for knowing how to have a good time. Families make use of the many green spaces, the coffee shops and candy stores that line the streets and the easy bus routes into downtown Seattle.

We (family of 5 with 3 boys ages 9, 6, and 6) had the best time at the Valley Street Residence! Maria is a truly exceptional hostess, so welcoming and thoughtful. The house is extremely well-organized and well-stocked with any supplies a guest might need. Our children thoroughly enjoyed hours of jumping on the trampoline and trampoline basketball, as well as playing with Maria's sons' remote control cars and many, many other toys and games. The house has gorgeous views, two decks, comfortable beds, and a great air conditioning system (which we were not necessarily expecting in Seattle, but which was much needed given the warm weather when we were there).

Our family had a truly incredible stay at this wonderful house. Our trip to Seattle was made exponentially better because we had this warm, stunning house as our home base. And Maria could not have been nicer or more helpful. She is a gem! Most important to us was that our daughter (5) would have a good bedroom and toys to play with... and our hopes were not only met but surpassed! Her cozy bunk bed and shelf after shelf of great books made her feel right at home. And the downstairs playroom had more board games, puzzles, and art activities than she could dream of. As for the grownups, we loved the deck with the beautiful view as well as cooking in the gorgeous, amply outfitted kitchen. As our daughter said multiple times on the trip (no kidding), "I'm in love with this house!" We're so grateful we had the opportunity to stay here, and look forward to another visit someday.

Maria was the most hospitable host! The house was very clean and organized! With two kids under the age of three she had gates up and so many things available to make our stay so easy and nice. We loved the master suite and bathroom and the roof top views were amazing! We spent lots of time up there! We’d definitely come back for another stay and highly recommend this home!

As always Maria does it perfectly. At this point, she knows what we are like and can read our minds. House is super comfortable and accessible and close to all our favorite places. Now with a new wholefoods, Macrina and SoulCycle nearby, there's no better place in Seattle

My third time staying here and our family feels welcomed every time and cared for. We had a short stay for this trip but our host was so thoughtful and accommodating as always. Their home is extremely clean, comfortable, stylish yet functional. Our go to when staying in Seattle! Thank you very much, Maria and family!

I had high expectations for Maria's place going in based on the reviews, and my experience there definitely exceeded my expectations. We appreciated the safe and extremely well-organized environment. The location was perfect - close to several parks (made a daily stop at the Volunteer Park), stores, etc. All the adults (me, husband, my sister) thoroughly enjoyed the house; the kids (ages 2 to 8) LOVED it. When I asked the older kids what their favorite part of Seattle was they said "the house! the playground! (artists at play)" :) Thanks Maria for being a great host; would love to stay there again.

Maria was a wonderful hostess. She was very accommodating for our large group.... She let us drop off our bags and groceries early before check in. Then she left us notes, etc to make things easier for us. My son loved the toys and was so sad when it was time to leave. As for the rest of our group, they were quite comfortable and happy and also sad to leave. I highly recommend this home!

The Valley Street Residence is a well-cared for house with easy access to so many cool restaurants and parks/playgrounds. We were lucky to have found it as we needed to find a place last minute & Maria was so helpful and kind in getting things set up for us and welcoming us into her home! Very kid-friendly and she even had gotten some toddler-appropriate toys out for us in the basement playroom. :) The master bedroom and bath are particularly amazing with the view of the water and mountains! I took one star off for my review only because I didn't know when I booked the house that it is located on a very busy, 4-lane street. This likely is not a problem for many people, however, my daughter and I are both sensitive to noise, especially when trying to sleep. Even with multiple white noise machines and all the windows closed, my daughter had a lot of difficulty napping in the middle of the day and also with sleeping in the morning with constant traffic/airplane noise. Aside from this, the house is perfect! Thanks again to this wonderful family for letting us borrow their home.

Like staying in an old friends' home. So organized and tidy. Maria is the best with details and notes and always so attentive. We had all we needed for our thanksgiving meal and had the best time. Doesn't hurt that the house is in the best Seattle location Loved it

This is our 2nd time staying at the Valley Street Residence and it was even better than our first visit! We had such a warm welcome by the hosts and they went above and beyond to help us with specific requests. Their home is very clean, beds are super comfy, organized with everything you can think of wanting in your own home and more! We appreciated the thoughtful touches like a handy booster seat at the dining table for our son to use, wine and chocolates (my fave!) especially after a day of traveling and clearing out space in the bedrooms and bathrooms for storage. My 3 year old was especially excited about the wonderful toys he could play with and was thankful they were offered to use. Self check in and check out was very smooth as usual. Many thanks to the Van Wollens for another excellent stay! We hope to always stay here for our future Seattle vacations!

My family and I absolutely loved this home! It was clean and organized and just visually an awesome home. The house is near downtown Seattle which was very convenient. Also a couple of blocks down there are a couple of cool shops and a place called hello robin with super yummy cookies and ice cream! Maria made this process super easy and you can tell she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. She left us a map of places she recommends around the neighborhood. She also put up baby gates for us which was great. Overall great great experience! We would definitely stay here again!

It was our first time using Kid & Co. and our hosts' first time renting their home and it was an exceptional and positive experience! Excellent communication before, during and after our stay, and we had very thorough and helpful notes about everything we needed for our stay along with thoughtful touches such as having groceries for us, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. It was better than staying in a luxury boutique hotel! Their home was warm, beautiful, and full of natural light! The beds were super comfy, and all the rooms were spacious and super clean. Lots of toys available which was perfect for my little toddler! Highly recommended and definitely the best vacation home stay we've had! Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home!
