Nine independent cottages surrounded by vineyards and olive groves set on an estate recently featured in a list of the 10 most beautiful wine chateaux in France. The Estate is set in the heart of a working winery and is easily accessible, just 20 minutes from Carcassonne, making it a perfect venue for a special occasion and gathering of friends and family. There is plenty to keep everyone happy with a heated pool, boules court, tennis court and the opportunity to see “behind the scenes” in the cellar, taste wine and learn about the Minervois region of the Languedoc. The fantastic outdoor BBQ area overlooking the olive groves is an ideal spot for sipping a glass of wine and watching the sun go down and the large reception hall with a catering facility is perfect for any kind of celebration. There is an on-site concierge/reception to help you plan your stay, including catering, or organize activities such as a wine blending workshop, a cooking class, bike rides or treasure hunts. The Estate sleeps a total of 38 people.

What we love

  • A beautiful location and very relaxed setting. The properties are nestled between the vineyards and olive groves with over 280 acres to explore. There are endless trails for an early morning jog, a mountain bike ride or a walk and great picnic spots with stunning views.
  • Personal atmosphere and very family friendly. In addition to the heated and fenced pool, tennis court and ‘boules’ court there is a dedicated play area for younger children. There is also a game room with dress up clothes, books, games, table tennis and table football for the older kids.
  • The full time concierge service can help you plan your stay and ensure you enjoy a stress free holiday.
  • Many wonderful public areas to gather with friends and family: the BBQ overlooking the olive grove, the central courtyard or the ‘Orangerie’, a great hall with floor to ceiling glass doors, and the more intimate private cottage terraces.
  • Easily accessible yet extremely peaceful. A 20 minute drive from the UNESCO World Heritage sights, the historic city of Carcassonne with its medieval fortress and fairy-tale castle and the Canal de Midi. The Carcassonne Airport is just 30 minutes away, Toulouse Airport is 1.5 hour away and Barcelona Airport is a 3 hour drive.
  • Keep everyone happy and busy a the Estate is a base from which to explore Mediterranean beaches, picturesque medieval villages, climbing a majestic hill top castle or river rafting in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Victoria loves to make people feel “at home on holiday”. She fine-tuned this skill during sixteen years working for the luxury travel company Butterfield & Robinson at their European office in Beaune, France. From tour guide, she rose to become the Director of European Operations, a position she held for over ten years. A Dutch father, a mother from New Zealand and with family spread across the globe Victoria has hospitality in her genes! A childhood spent in Thailand and Spain and an education spanning several continents from England to Canada to Mexico has resulted in her understanding exactly how important it is to feel comfortable in an unfamiliar place. She looks forward to making you feel at home at ‘Chez Canet’.

Carcassonne, Southwest France

Castles, cobblestones and canals

This fairytale town in southern France is like a medieval pageant come to life, all drawbridges, cobblestones and Disney-esque turrets. Spaghetti-thin streets wind past basilicas covered in gargoyles and ramparts rolling out panoramic views. Watch falconry shows and knights on horseback or splash about at Carcassonne Plage, just outside the city.
