Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom cottage has an eat-in kitchen on the ground floor along with a living room and access to a private terrace with seating and the gardens and grounds. The upper floor has 2 bedrooms: 1 with double/full bed and another with bunk beds, and a family bathroom with shower only. The property shares grounds with other cottages on the estate, along with a pool, shared barbecue area and various play areas.

Style Notes

Light and airy with a touch of the South of France. Bright painted walls and comfortable furniture make it a welcoming retreat. The kitchen is simple and has pretty white tiles; the lounge has pastel floral pictures on the wall and the master bedroom is soothing with a natural color palette. The main draw overall is the wonderful estate, with its woodlands, orchards and spaces to play and explore. We love the shared spaces - the large pool, the vineyard trails and the play spaces. The estate was recently featured in a list of the 10 most beautiful wine chateaux in France.

Victoria loves to make people feel “at home on holiday”. She fine-tuned this skill during sixteen years working for the luxury travel company Butterfield & Robinson at their European office in Beaune, France. From tour guide, she rose to become the Director of European Operations, a position she held for over ten years. A Dutch father, a mother from New Zealand and with family spread across the globe Victoria has hospitality in her genes! A childhood spent in Thailand and Spain and an education spanning several continents from England to Canada to Mexico has resulted in her understanding exactly how important it is to feel comfortable in an unfamiliar place. She looks forward to making you feel at home at ‘Chez Canet’.

Carcassonne, Southwest France

Castles, cobblestones and canals

This fairytale town in southern France is like a medieval pageant come to life, all drawbridges, cobblestones and Disney-esque turrets. Spaghetti-thin streets wind past basilicas covered in gargoyles and ramparts rolling out panoramic views. Watch falconry shows and knights on horseback or splash about at Carcassonne Plage, just outside the city.
