This beautiful 17th century country house close to Avignon in the south of France sleeps up to 12 and has pale blue shutters, an expansive garden and a pool. It’s welcoming for children and adults alike, with plenty of space, toys and games and large south-facing bedrooms with views of the gardens. It’s a great location for exploring the charming towns of Provence, including St Rémy de Provence and Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, along with market towns and pretty countryside. We love the large kitchen, the alfresco dining areas and the landscaped gardens, perfect for a stay of a week or more in the summer as a larger family or with extended family and friends.

What we love

  • Beautiful pool surrounded by lawns, trees and lavender bushes, illuminated at night
  • 1 hectare garden with plenty for kids including swings, trapeze, slide, inground trampoline, beach volleyball, ping pong table and soccer nets
  • Comfortable living room with open fireplace, sofas and stairs to the upper floors
  • Large kitchen plus dining room seating up to 12
  • 3 calming double bedrooms overlooking the gardens, one with an extra single bed and another with a sofa bed rather than full bed
  • 2 kids bedrooms, one with pretty pink wallpaper and two single beds and another with green and white print wallpaper and three single beds
  • Tiled floors, a soothing color palette and Picasso and Egon Schiele prints

I spend my time between the operation of La Bastide des Barattes, my event or communication projects and tries to remain available for my 2 kids, Luna (10) & Andrea (6). Warm and welcoming nature, I'm sure this feels in my relationships with others and , of course, that my house is a reflection for guests , tenants and honeymooners staying . We acquired the house after 10 years spent in Paris . The goal was to get closer to our families and to have a place to get all of us together, with friends or family. Staying regularly in Antibes or Paris , so we chose to rent our Bastide from time to time . We also rent the property for private events, photo shoots and offer a guest room at certain times of the year. All people who have stayed for a night or a week in this house are endlessly the same comment : ' this house is soothing, it feels immediately at ease ... Volumes and parts of the garden, there are certainly many , and the decor and furnishings , designed without any fuss.

Cavaillon, Luberon

Melons and the mountains

This small Provençal town is famous for its melons, its walking paths and its situation at the foot of the Luberon mountain. Close to Avignon, Aix and the Camargue, it’s a good base for a trip to the south of France, especially if you like the great outdoors and pretty hillside towns.
