Perks for the Parents

A gorgeous family home on the Isle of Palms, just outside Charleston, with kids toys, beach gear and a golf cart to help you explore the area. It sleeps 9 + 1. Spend your days beaching, biking, boating or just lounging about on the island - this is real beach living. Should you crave a day in town, it's only a short 30 minutes to the world-class dining and shopping in Charleston. After busy days out in the glorious sunshine, you can head back to relax on the porch swing, grill family meals on the porch, head to the marina for a boat ride, or simply go back to the house for a bonfire under the stars.

Why Kids Love it

The owners have 3 children, so they’re happy to provide anything you need for your stay, from a crib and stroller to sippy cups on request. A large backyard with a playground is a favorite spot for kids, and the home has plenty of bikes, trikes, boogie boards and beach toys in the garage, as well as indoor toys available upon request. When the kids are ready to explore, there’s a large playground just 3 blocks away and they’ll love taking trips in the golf cart to the local market (a short 5-minute ride).

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights, with check in/out over weekends only. Safety notes: the home is elevated and set over 2 floors so families will have to navigate how much supervision is needed for little ones. There is an elevator should you need assistance with the steps and/or for helping with luggage and groceries. No parties allowed - this is a quiet neighborhood. Parking is available for 4-5 cars on the driveway (cars are not allowed to be parked on the street). Car rental is recommended, although guests can get around the island by golf cart or by bike (4 bikes are available to borrow). The host can provide contact information for a private driver if you need transportation off the island, or a golf-cart taxi service around the island.

About the Location

The residence is located in Isle of Palms, just 30 minutes to downtown Charleston in South Carolina. It’s 10 minutes to Mount Pleasant and a short bike ride to Sullivan's Island. The house is located 2 blocks from the beach, a 5-minute golf-cart ride from the marina, and just down the island from the golf courses and amenities of the Wild Dunes Resort. The island has plenty of bike trails and most places on the island can be accessed with the golf cart. The nearest airport, CHS, is located in North Charleston just 30 minutes away by car.

Accommodation Details

The property has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The relaxed open floor plan of the house allows everyone to gather for meals and entertainment, and yet there’s plenty of space to recharge and relax in the bedrooms, 2 lounge rooms, office (with a single sofabed) and multiple porches. There’s a primary bedroom with a kingsize bed, a second guest room with a queensize bed, and 2 children’s bedrooms each with a double bed. The hosts also have a crib available upon request. All the bathrooms come fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. Fresh towels are supplied in all of the bathrooms. Each bedroom will have a change of fresh linens available in the adjoining closet.

Style Notes

Breezy and beachy. This is a bright, light and coastal home made for enjoying long, lazy summer days with the family. A playful, tropical vibe fills the home, and you'll find daybeds and hanging chairs for relaxing, as well as unique artwork to inspire you during your stay. Pretty pastels and delicate prints add elegance to the neutral color palette, which complements the luxurious marble countertops in the bathroom. We love the tropical print curtains, the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and the laid-back rattan furniture.

Hey y'all! We're a fun-loving family of five living on an island just off the coast of Charleston, SC.

Charleston, South Carolina

Pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and history around each corner

Beautiful beaches, stunning architecture and genuine dose of southern charm make Charleston a fabulous place to visit with kids. Get your instagram game on point ready for the pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages, and be sure not to miss dolphins playing in the harbour, The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (ideal for little kids), and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began. Ghost tours and pirate tours are a great way to bring the area’s colorful history to life for older kids, when you need a change from a day at the beach.
