About the Location

The residence is in Clapham, south London, close to the main high street which has independent shops, restaurants, bars, pubs and supermarkets. The adjoining Venn Street has an arthouse cinema, a vinyl record shop and fresh produce from the weekly farmers’ market. Clapham Common is a vast triangular park that’s been a favourite picnic spot for Londoners since the 18th century and includes a pond, cafés and a playground. It is easy to explore the city from here - trains run from Clapham Common Underground station to Waterloo and Central London in 15 minutes while overground trains from Clapham Junction run to Brighton in an hour or less. Gatwick airport is an hour away by taxi and the same by public transit, while Heathrow is 40 minutes by taxi.

The ground floor has a double-sized sitting room and a bedroom with a twin bed. The first floor has a master bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and tub. The children’s bedrooms are on the floor above, 1 with a bunk bed and the other with a raised bed, plus a kids bathroom with tub and shower. The top floor has a further bedroom with single bed and ensuite shower bathroom. There is no wardrobe in the fifth bedroom so a hanging rail will be provided.

Style Notes

English Classic. With muted colors and plenty to entertain the kids, this lovely family home is decorated with care and attention. Bedrooms are uncluttered and serene, while shared spaces offer areas to play and relax together. The classic kitchen has sage green cabinets and an English classic, an AGA, to enjoy cooking on. High stools surround the oak breakfast bar and a skylight lets the sunshine in. Stripped pine floors and white walls throughout add a classic touch. We love the kids bedrooms, full of toys, the sash windows, and the bright stained glass frosted window in the master bathroom.

Green spaces and gastro pubs

Set between Brixton and Battersea, Clapham is a lovely neighborhood just 20 minutes by public transport from the West End, with green spaces, gastro pubs and plenty of local families. Clapham Common is a great place to play, walk dogs and have a picnic in the summer; Battersea Power Station nearby hosts family-friendly events, and it’s just a short bus ride to Battersea Park for its zoo, playground, running tracks and boating pond. Brockwell Lido, nearby is great for a dip in the summer.
