Style Notes

Elegant and historic. This spacious home on a picturesque tree-lined street is in a historic 1870 brick and brownstone townhouse. With 12-foot ceilings on the parlor floor and 12-inch oak wide-planked floors, it nods to an elegant past. The country-style kitchen is outfitted with 1920s-era pressed-tin ceilings and top of the line stainless appliances. The kitchen, stocked with basics, has a granite top island and an oversized bay window banquette with an open view of a private garden. We love the bright and beautiful bedrooms, the beautiful entryway and the easy location for family fun in Brooklyn.

The Carroll Street residence provided the perfect combination of Brooklyn charm and kid-friendly amenities, and our stay here really made our trip extra-special. The host was extremely accommodating and responsive, the location couldn't be beat (only a few blocks from our favorite cafes, restaurants, parks and shops), and the apartment itself is stunning. High ceilings, exposed brick, comfy beds, and plenty of space for children to explore (a real rarity in NYC)—our family actually had a difficult time saying goodbye to this home. We will most definitely be staying here again and again—our girls are already asking about the next New York trip! Thank you for the most unforgettable vacation.

We spent a week at the Carroll Street Residence and couldn't have been happier with our experience. It perfectly fit our family of five - four adults and one toddler. Our daughter had the space to explore (a treasure to find in BK!) and play with the awesome set of toys provided. We loved have the opportunity to cook in the beautiful kitchen with the great view of the backyard flowers and trees. The hosts were so friendly and communicative. And the location can't be beat! Everything one could ever need (playgrounds, markets, coffee shops, trains, legendary pizza) is within walking distance. We're counting down 'til our next trip.

Had a great time in this Brooklyn brownstone! It was a great fit for our family of five during our visit to NYC. We would have loved a few more niceties when it came to sheets, towels, etc but it didn't hurt our enjoyment of our stay that much.

Our family had a great stay at the Carroll Street Residence. Very clear instructions were provided by the host Jenny and the place was lovely.

Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

Old world Brooklyn

Between Brooklyn Heights and Carroll Gardens, charming Cobble Hill is one Brooklyn’s oldest neighborhoods, and retains an intimate, historical feel. Just three stops on the F train from Manhattan, the family-friendly area is an easy place to stay in the city. Spy contemporary art in warehouse galleries, browse local boutiques and vintage stores and play in the half acre Cobble Hill park.
