I am an artist, designer and educator. Our family loves traveling anywhere! We especially love good food destinations! I joined Kid & Coe to share our very special countryside retreat in the child-friendly historic village of Cooperstown in Upstate New York, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame, New York State Carousel, the Farmer's Museum (Living History Outdoor Museum), The Fenimore Museum (Folk Art and Native American), Otsego Lake and home of James Fenimore Cooper, author of The Last of the Mohicans and The Deerslayer. Come visit!

Thistle Hill was absolute perfection! Such a serene getaway spot. The views from the home are postcard perfect! Everything from the comfortable beds with thick duvets and soft sheets, fluffy towels, and multiple places to relax and read or play a family board game set this home up for a wonderful family weekend. My kids loved playing with the bean bag toss in the backyard and roasting marshmallows for s'mores in the firepit, followed by some excellent stargazing. The location feels remote and tranquil yet is only a few minutes from downtown Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. There was everything we needed and more to cook meals in the well-stocked kitchen. So many thoughtful touches, and Peg was very responsive when we had any questions. Highly, highly recommend a visit to Thistle Hill

Baseball, farming history and Otsego lake

Cooperstown, west of Albany, is a charming village with a few stellar attraction for families. Check out the National Baseball Hall of Fame, full of facts about the sport, then stroll to the town’s farmer’s market and Otsego Lake. Parents will love the antique shops and great restaurants while kids can learn to ride, swim in the lake in summer or ride the historic carousel in the historic Farmer’s Museum.
