Perks for the Parents

In one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, this 3-bedroom apartment has an abundance of charm, character and design details. Ideal for a family travelling with kids, it is small and cozy, yet practical and well-set up with all you need including lots of toys and games. It is located in one of the most attractive areas of Copenhagen on a quiet, one-way street with a nice ‘French quarter’ atmosphere and lots of shopping, restaurants, playgrounds nearby. Some of the city’s most family-friendly attractions are within walking distance.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment has plenty of toys and books and entertainment for kids of all ages. For those who love music, there is a piano and a guitar. The area is filled with some of the best playgrounds and all kinds of kid-friendly parks, playgrounds and restaurants, all within walking distance. The cozy kids bedroom includes gymnastic rings and 2 twin beds, separated by a wall with a window in it, so siblings can sleep close to each other but retain privacy. Note that as typical in Copenhagen apartments, the bathroom is shower-only.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. The flat is safe and secure on the 2nd floor and all doors to the building are always locked. There is no elevator, but the stairs are not steep and easy to climb. The quiet one-way street has parking (note that guests have to pay a small daily or weekly fee). The stairs and the fireplace inside the apartment are not gated. The back yard is open but can be locked with a small fence so kids can play safely without accidently going into the street. Car rental is not essential in this central part of the city - public transport is reliable and cycling is the best way to get around, with multiple cycle hire firms close by.

About the Location

The apartment is perfectly located on a quiet street in Frederiksberg, surrounded by a 'French quarter' atmosphere with cafés, galleries, shopping and restaurants, from high end to street food and lots of specialty stores. All of these conveniences are within 2 minutes walk. The residence is walking distance to the city center, Tivoli Gardens, Vesterbro and Copenhagen Zoo. It takes 20 minutes from Copenhagen-Kastrup airport to Forum station (metro), which is a couple of minutes’ walk from the apartment. Buses leave right outside the door every 8-10 minutes.

Accommodation Details

This rooftop apartment is on the 2nd floor in a very old and charming building dating 1861 which has only 6 apartments in total. It has a large living room and a cozy eat-in kitchen, with a master bedroom upstairs (with kingsize bed) along with and a separate kids department with 2 small rooms, each with a twin bed, separated by a wall with a window in it. There is a very front and back yard to the building with a table for dining and a sandbox and a selection of scooters and bikes for young children.

Style Notes

Danish design. The apartment is decorated in a bright, Nordic design/color scheme with lots of wooden materials and soft and happy colors. The materials are natural and family-friendly with few sharp edges or fragile materials. The open loft allows for a playful and creative decoration with a set of gymnastic rings for kids to play with and a cozy atmosphere on a rainy day when the rain sounds on the windows. We love the playful kids rooms and the beautiful and relaxing tones of the main living space.

The Little Mermaid to the Big Dipper

Copenhagen is the perfect-sized city to explore with a young family. Borrow a cargo bike and freewheel around town, exploring bakeries, the Tivoli funfair and the city’s historic streets. Give the Little Mermaid a wave from a boat tour and make sure you visit some of the city’s fantastic museums - including its excellent zoo. Fun fact: Lego was created nearby.
