Perks for the Parents
This spacious apartment in the heart of Copenhagen is full of beautiful Scandinavian details and includes a spacious family room, one kids bedroom and a guest room, with a Christiania bike to borrow. Located in a rear building off of one of central Copenhagen’s main streets, it is a quiet spot with lots of natural light. There is an espresso machine in the bar for early mornings, along with locally-made spirits for an evening wind-down. The master bedroom has a king Stearns & Foster mattress for quality sleep; the kids bedroom is on the other side of the hallway for easy and quick access to the kids, and the guest bedroom is off the living room for a little more privacy. The newly renovated bathroom features a free-standing bathtub.
Why Kids Love it
The apartment has plenty of toys (Legos galore) and art supplies, and a big open living room, perfect for movie nights. It is suitable for kids under 7: for younger children, there are 2 high chairs, and a toddler potty in the bathroom. The owners have a kids bike you can borrow, and it is easy to ride to 2 nearby playgrounds, or the park nearby. Alternatively, ferry the kids around in the Christiania bike like a local family. The kids bedroom has a bunk bed, and is filled with books, legos, puzzles and toys to keep the kids entertained. The apartment has a shared courtyard and garden with a small playground and sandbox. Steps away you’ll find a food hall, cafés, shopping and the city’s lakes.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 4 days. The apartment is on the first floor, with no elevator. It is all on one level with no stairs. It is at the rear and is not directly on the main road. There is no parking; car rental is not recommended with easy public transit and bike routes nearby. There are 3 grocery stores within a 5-minute walk, plus a handful of bakeries, and some great coffee shops, cafés and wine bars. The Meatpacking district, filled with hip restaurants and bars, is just 15 minutes away.
About the Location
The residence is in Vesterbro, central Copenhagen, an area home to lots of boutique design shops and cafés. The apartment is just off Vesterbrogade, with public transport, shops and restaurants just outside the door. The WestMarket food hall is just half a block away. You can't beat this location - Copenhagen Zoo, Søndermarken and Frederiksberg Gardens as well as Tivoli Gardens, are all within a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride from the apartment. Copenhagen Kastrup airport is around 25 minutes by taxi or 30 minutes by public transit.
Accommodation Details
This 160 sqm apartment has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and has access to a large courtyard and garden with playground and sandboxes. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed plus connecting changing room and closet. There is also a kids room with a bunk bed (baby bassinet or crib available on request) and a second bedroom with a queensize bed. The luxurious bathroom has a rain shower and a freestanding bathtub, with a washer/dryer in the hallway. The fully equipped kitchen includes an eat-in nook; there is also a more formal dining room and a large open living room divided into 2 spaces. There are 2 juliet balconies with garden/playground views.
Style Notes
Airy, bright and modern. The apartment is in a small quiet rear building, built in the 1930s, and renovated completely in 2014. Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism, it is still warm and hygge. Stripped oak floorboards, mostly white walls and bright artwork frame the light-filled space. The apartment includes design objects and furniture from local designers, including HAY, Muuto, and FermLiving. We love the playful touches for kids, the cozy dusky pink sofa and the location in the heart of the city with everything you could need on the doorstep.

Copenhagen, Denmark
The Little Mermaid to the Big Dipper
Copenhagen is the perfect-sized city to explore with a young family. Borrow a cargo bike and freewheel around town, exploring bakeries, the Tivoli funfair and the city’s historic streets. Give the Little Mermaid a wave from a boat tour and make sure you visit some of the city’s fantastic museums - including its excellent zoo. Fun fact: Lego was created nearby.
