This 3-bedroom villa with a pool is just outside the beautiful village of Plaka on the north coast of Crete, and includes sunny terraces and unbeatable views of the sea. Kids will love running, playing and swimming, and parents will too. The property includes a fully equipped indoor kitchen and an outdoor kitchen plus allergy pillows, 100% cotton sheets and linens and blankets by Cocomat. The property also includes a fitness room. Beaches are a 5-minute drive away and include water sports (kite surfing and diving schools in particular). Almyrida villa nearby has fresh fish cafés, beach bars, an ATM and a pharmacy, while Kalyves village has a post office, bank and supermarket.

Why Kids Love it

All ages will find something to love here, from running around, playing in the playground or swimming with the pool toys provided. A travel crib is available. Days at the beach are easy, and if the kids want to learn to kite surf or dive/snorkel, there are local watersports schools on the beach in Almyrida. The location is great for exploring the quieter side of the island; with a rental car, everything is within easy reach, including the west coast (50km away), Samaria Gorge (55km away) and beach bars, kite surfing and diving schools along the coast.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. The house has 1 floor only and the stairs leading to the roof are locked. There are only few steps in the gardens. The area where young children need extra supervision is around the pool, set away from the house, which is unfenced and 1.5m deep, and in the garden where there are a lot of steps and stepped terraces. Note that all bedrooms have access to the gardens. Linen and towels are changed twice a week (daily on request) and the property is cleaned twice a week (daily on request). Pool cleaning is weekly.

About the Location

The residence is in Plaka, near Almyrida on the north coast of Crete. It is a green and beautiful part of the island, around 5 minutes by car from the nearest beach (Almyrida beach) and 0.5km from the heart of Plaka village. Almyrida is a fishing village nearby while just 5 km away Kalives is a larger village with a post office, bank and supermarket. Chania airport is 30 km away and Heraklion airport is 150 km away. The port of Souda is 18 km away. There is a medical center in Vamos village open all the time. Car rental is essential for exploring in this location. There is parking at the property and a remote-controlled external gate.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom villa with a pool includes 1 bedroom with a double bed plus ensuite bathroom with shower, and 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds each. There is a family bathroom with bathtub and jacuzzi. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, juicer, toaster, kettle and cutlery. The open plan living and dining room includes a double sofa bed, fireplace, TV, CD/DVD player. Outside space comprises gardens, patios, dining areas, a wood stove, barbecue and a wooden deck with loungers.

We love the secret spot beyond the pool under a gnarled olive tree for gazing at the sea, the charming kids bedrooms and the wood stove and barbecue area for happy family meals in the sunshine.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
