Perks for the Parents

This charming bungalow with front porch and fenced back yard is well set up for young children and within walking distance to the Light Rail for quick access to downtown Denver’s many activities. The peaceful master bedroom is located downstairs, away from the activity. If visiting during the warmer months, guests may pick from the garden beds, usually thriving April - October. Family travel is made simpler with a large laundry room with utility sink.

Why Kids Love it

The home is set up for babies and toddlers with a dedicated nursery, crib, glider, changing table, baby bath and baby monitor. Kids can play with the many toys, books and soft animals. The backyard is fenced in with grass, flowers, birds/squirrels and sprinklers for warmer weather. Older children can enjoy the fire pit for s’mores. There is a park 1.5 blocks away with playground, pool, rec-center, tons of open space, baseball diamond, basketball hoop, etc.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. The front door is accessed via 4 cement steps, but a stroller can easily access the home without steps through the back yard. Wooden stairs lead to the TV room and to the basement; stair gates are provided. The front yard has a wall that is 2 feet above the sidewalk, so a small child should not be left alone near it. The back yard is gated. Air conditioning, WiFi and parking are included and washer/dryer, dishwasher and TV are available to use.

About the Location

The residence is in the University area of the city, approximately 5 miles/ 12-15 minutes by car from downtown Denver. Being close to I-25, Santa Fe, and University means everything is a quick drive. Situated extremely close (a short walk) to the Light Rail, you can quickly access the heart of downtown, including the sports stadiums, 6-Flags, Union Station, museums and also to the airport. Additionally, the cute local library and farmer’s market are both within walking distance. About 50 minutes by car to Denver International Airport.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom bungalow with front porch and fenced back yard includes a fully equipped kitchen with dining table seating 6-8, living room with TV and fireplace, master bedroom with kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with jetted tub and shower, second bedroom with fullsize bed, third bedroom with baby crib and glider, and newly-renovated family bathroom. The back patio includes sunshade, outdoor dining, grassy yard, fire pit and gardens.

Style Notes

Bright and warm. A bold red front door, hardwood floors and newly installed downstairs carpet create a homey and inviting living space for the family. The home includes original craftsman details with modernized bathroom and kitchen, including granite countertops, painted brick wall and unique paint colors throughout. We love the back porch ambience, cozy pastel nursery and large windows streaming natural light.

We are a family always on the go. We try to travel as much as possible with our son. We want him to be good in cars, good on planes, and good in new cities! That said, we know the stresses of traveling with a little one, so hope to open our home to others who share the love of traveling with kids!

My daughter and I spent 5 days here and it was absolutely perfect. I loved the style of the house, the playroom was a huge hit, and our hosts gave us great suggestions for food and activities that were key parts of our trip. You can tell how much care they put into their home and making sure their guests enjoy their stay. The location was super convenient, especially with the neighborhood pool close by as well as S Pearl for eating out. Also, short drives to the Nature & Science Museum, zoo, and other kid-friendly attractions. Already planning to come back again!

Denver, Colorado

Mountains, museums and massive footprints

With the Rockies plus every kind of mountaineering and hiking adventure you could wish for on offer, Denver is a destination for active families. Colorado’s ski slopes are open for business in the winter and for the rest of the year, red canyons and towering rocks beckon for a taste of mountain life. National parks mark out paths where the dinosaurs once roamed, while in the city itself, hipsters sip lattes and head to quirky gallery shows. LoDo - the lower downtown area - is a must visit, with Tattered Cover at its heart, an independent bookstore with afternoon storytimes for kids
