Perks for the Parents

This Victorian home in the heart of Denver is beautifully set up for kids and boasts a loft bed that looks like a tree house, and a closet under the stairs for Harry Potter-fuelled dreams. Set in the LoHi area of Denver, a short walk to downtown, it has comfortable living spaces, a garden and chickens. Kids will love finding fresh eggs for breakfast and playing in the garden play space spring to autumn.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of space and is great for kids under the age of 10. It's a short walk from a park and playground, and a highchair, stroller and car seat can be provided. Toys are plentiful. There is a sunny playroom on the second floor filled with toys/games for kids 3-9, and the kids bedrooms are fun, with a loft bed that looks like a tree house and a Harry Potter closet under the stairs as a sleeping space for a child under 48 inches tall.

Things to Know

There is street parking in front of the residence. There are 3 floors and no safety gates; the property is not suitable for crawling babies or toddlers who don't feel comfortable on stairs. The loft bed and upper bunk are not suitable for toddlers or young children; we suggest age 6 and above. Car rental useful but not essential.

About the Location

The property is in the LoHi neighborhood of Denver, a 10-minute walk to downtown and Union Station. There are several restaurants and shops located within blocks of the property, including 2 of Denver's most highly-regarded eating establishments, Linger and Root Down. Denver International Airport is a 25-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

The house is set over 3 floors and has 3 formal bedrooms with a master bedroom on the top floor with an ensuite bathroom and kingsize bed. The 2 children’s rooms with bunk/loft beds share a bathroom on the second floor. The first floor has a living space, a large dining room that seats 8, a kitchen and a family room with a TV. The large backyard has seating for 8 plus a play structure, small garden and 4 chickens.

Style Notes

Modern Victorian. This lovely old Victorian home in the heart of Denver was built in 1886 and has been recently restored to its original glory. It includes a farmhouse-style kitchen and a gas fireplace, hardwood floors and original artwork throughout. Bedrooms have pretty details to entrance kids, from play tents to loft beds, and the main living spaces are thoughtfully laid out for family fun. We love the artwork, the shaggy rugs and the secluded master suite.

Denver, Colorado

Mountains, museums and massive footprints

With the Rockies plus every kind of mountaineering and hiking adventure you could wish for on offer, Denver is a destination for active families. Colorado’s ski slopes are open for business in the winter and for the rest of the year, red canyons and towering rocks beckon for a taste of mountain life. National parks mark out paths where the dinosaurs once roamed, while in the city itself, hipsters sip lattes and head to quirky gallery shows. LoDo - the lower downtown area - is a must visit, with Tattered Cover at its heart, an independent bookstore with afternoon storytimes for kids
