Perks for the Parents

This light and modern family home is great for parents and kids alike, and is set in the creative and upcoming Dogpatch area. Parents will love the floor plan and beautiful light all day long. There's a wonderful soaking tub for relaxing and bathing kids, as well as great rainshower system. The outdoor shower is particularly good for rinsing off after a surf. The neighborhood is great fun, with plenty of places to play and explore nearby, and the Bay just a few blocks away.

Why Kids Love it

The house has plenty of toys and books, as well as playhouse and sand table in the yard. The kids' room includes a child's bed and a crib, and the third bedroom is currently set up as a playroom. There are multiple playgrounds within walking distance (including one at the end of the block) and Esprit Park is nearby for running around in a field. There is also a basketball court nearby for riding bikes, scooting, or shooting hoops.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The house has concrete floors on the first floor and hardwood floors on the second, both with in-floor radiant heating and Nest thermostats throughout. There are child safety gates for the inside and outside stairs. Car rental is useful for this location, but there is good public transit nearby and walkable shops, bars and activities.

About the Location

The house is in the heart of the trendy Dogpatch neighborhood with great restaurants and coffee shops just at the end of the block. There are 2 bus lines as well as the metro T line within blocks for easy access to downtown and other neighborhoods. Potrero Hill is also a 10-minute walk uphill. It is around a 25-minute drive to SFO airport.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom 2-story home has an open floor plan. The spacious kitchen opens onto a deck with a lovely yard below, and there is a dining area and lounge on the same floor. Bedrooms include 1 with queensize bed, 1 with a child’s bed plus crib, and a third bedroom, set up as a playroom, with a pull out couch that becomes a queensize bed. There are 2.5 bathrooms, with tubs and showers. Steps lead down to the back yard which has play spaces for the kids and an outdoor shower.

Style Notes

Renovated Victorian. This beautiful home has a quintessentially charming San Francisco exterior and featured in Dwell magazine in 2017. Bright, open and modern, it has high ceilings, open and comfortable living spaces and cozy bedrooms. Glass doors lead from the main living space and kitchen to a garden, with an indoor-outdoor feel. We love the exterior of this pretty house, the carefully chosen furniture and simple color scheme, and the wonderful bathroom.

Dogpatch, San Francisco

Creative and close to the bay

Lively Dogpatch is a hub for creatives in the heart of the city, set between the waterfront and Potrero Hill. Third Street is the place to find a great brunch, along with the Museum of Craft and Design, which has family days and drop-in arts sessions, while Dogpatch Arts Plaza is an outdoor space where you’ll find evening concerts and jam sessions. Play at Woods Yard Park and climb the walls at Dogpatch Boulders, which has a specialist are for kids who love to climb.
