This spacious apartment in family-friendly Brooklyn comes with stacks of kids toys and it’s just a few minutes’ away from the sights of Dumbo. It sleeps 4 + 2. This is a great residence for traveling parents with younger children. The primary bedroom suite is well separated from the second bedroom but still close enough for comfort, and the open living plan makes it easy to keep an eye on little ones. Parents will love their bedroom, which comes complete with closets and an ensuite marble bath with jetted tub.

Why Kids Love it

The best part of staying here are the amenities for younger children, perfect for infants through to the toddler years. In addition to a slew of toys, games, puzzles and more, the hosts also have a highchair, crib, toddler bed, baby bath and even a stroller during your stay (on request). The second bedroom is fully set up for smaller children featuring wooden Montessori toys from leading brands including Lily & River and LoveEvery, so you won’t have to travel with recreational gear.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. The apartment is on the 6th floor set within a boutique condominium offering a part-time door concierge, a roof deck with views, an elevator and a gym. There is a washer and dryer in residence, as well as a dishwasher, TV and WiFi. The apartment itself is baby proofed which offers some security for parents traveling with smaller children. It’s 5 minutes’ walk to York St subway station and 5 minutes’ walk to Dumbo ferry terminal. Both JFK and LaGuardia airports are around 1 hour away by train or car. There is a paid parking garage next door to the building, but car hire is not necessary.

The apartment is located in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Composed of cobblestone streets, turn-of-the-century industrial architecture, stunning views of Manhattan and a full waterfront park, Dumbo is one of the most sought-after family neighborhoods in New York City. Dumbo is not only visually stunning but Brooklyn Bridge Park features a multitude of smaller play parks for children of all ages, a water park and the iconic Jane's Carousel. The piers along Brooklyn Bridge Park offer recreation sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer fields and more) in addition to water sports (kayaking and sailing) and a plethora of other outdoor activities and events for children during the summer.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, all set across 1 floor. Entering the loft you’ll reach a large open plan living/dining room that spans thirty feet and offers 2 exposures, east and south. Light pours into the loft from the wall of glass on the southern facing side. The open living plan also incorporates the dining area featuring a table that comfortably seats 8. The large U-shaped kitchen features state-of-the-art appliances by Bosch and Sub-Zero, honed soapstone counters, a wine refrigerator and a breakfast bar. The primary bedroom suite features a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom offers a large play area for children and a huge wall of windows for full southern exposure, together with a toddler bed and a crib (but a regular bed can be added if needed). There are 2 bathrooms: 1 with a full bathtub and the other with a shower, so you have options for children's bathing routine.

Style Notes

Relaxed scandi. The entire house is styled with a sense of shabby chic, designed with a comfort-first approach. There is lots of greenery and light, making it a very cozy place to spend your down time. The hosts have created a full chef’s kitchen with top-notch appliances for those who want to try some culinary experimentation, and the living area features a custom-built wall of shelves lit by halogens concealed in the beamed ceilings. We love the huge rug adding softness to the living room, the bold splash of modern art in the kitchen and the industrial-style exposed vanity unit in the bathroom.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
