Perks for the Parents

Close to East Hampton and Sag Harbor, this peaceful home features a heated swimming pool, beautiful landscaping and natural tree-lined surroundings. It sleeps 10 + 1. Fully gated for extra safety, this family house is a great place for parents to relax. If you love cooking, the kitchen is perfect and it’s in an easy location to collect local ingredients from East Hampton farmers market. Get cozy around the large fireplace on cooler evenings, or spend your summer days down by the beach or splashing in the very private pool outside - all while the kids play in a completely safe space.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts have a 4-year old boy so it’s fully set up for children under 10. The living room is large enough for wheeled toys and there’s plenty of toys and books for kids to enjoy. They’ll be able to burn off lots of energy splashing in the child-friendly heated pool or jumping on the large trampoline in the backyard, and the children’s room is fitted with black-out curtains, a sound machine and a night light - perfect for a good night’s sleep after a busy day. It’s a short drive to local playgrounds and beaches, while older kids and teens can try out watersports nearby or hang out at East Hampton’s cinema. A crib, high chair, baby bath can be provided on request.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. Safety notes: the house has stairs but they are fitted with carpet for extra safety and the hosts can provide stair gates if needed. The pool is fenced in, as is the whole property, so kids can play safely outside. Sliding doors to the house have alarms which beep when open and the pool also has a child-friendly electric cover. Parking is available for 4 cars - car rental is recommended. The hosts have bikes for guests to borrow during their stay. Pets are welcome on request. Islip is the closest domestic airport; the international airports in New York are around 2 hours’ drive.

About the Location

The house is located in between East Hampton and Sag Harbor, in The Hamptons, NY. It’s less than 10 minutes’ drive into East Hampton where there is a train station (for access to the city) as well as a range of local stores, world-class restaurants and a farmers market. It’s also very close to Amagansett (for more delicious eateries, as well as a Jitney stop) and Bridgehampton for the Children’s Museum of the East End - both towns are less than 15 minutes’ drive. There are plenty of parks, nature reserves, country parks and trails within 5-10 minutes’ drive, as well as easy access to beaches on both sides of the island. Montauk is half an hour away, or go the other direction to Bridge or Watermill.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. Downstairs there is a spacious living room with seating around a fireplace and separate dining area. The fully-equipped kitchen features a breakfast bar for 2 and a cozy dining nook. This floor also has 2 queensize beds and a family bathroom with a walk-in shower. Stairs lead up to the primary bedroom, which has a kingsize bed and a balcony. The hosts also have 2 double air beds available for additional guests. Outside, there is a dining area on the deck and the pool area is surrounded by loungers.

Style Notes

Tranquil modernity. Set in 2 acres among the tall white pines of East Hampton's Bull Path, the house is a great open space with windows all around to allow for lots of natural light and views of the surrounding trees. Light, airy colors complement the high ceilings to create a calm serene space, while subtle rustic elements and natural wood textures contrast gracefully with contemporary furniture. We love the playful kids room décor, the cozy stone fireplace in the living room and the traditional wood paneled ceilings.

East Hampton, The Hamptons

Mansions and main beach

East Hampton is this affluent playground’s most fashionable town, known for its grand houses and estates as much for its readings and exhibitions. The main draw is Main Beach, a beautiful coastline with clean sands, inviting waters, professional lifeguards, plenty of space and millionaire mansions on the banks. LongHouse Reserve, with its enchanting sculpture garden, and Hither Hills State Park are also worth a visit.
