Perks for the Parents

This 3-bedroom Barcelona apartment between Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya is ideal for a small family. There is a terrace great for kids and adults alike, with outdoor lounge furniture for sunny days. It is set in a quiet building alongside other families and offices. With great transport routes nearby, it is easy to explore the city from this central location.

Why Kids Love it

There is a dedicated kids bedroom with a twin bed and trundle bed, and it is full of toys and games. The hosts also have videogames. The apartment is a short walk to much of the city, and the beach is a 15-minute underground ride away. There is a park with playground and sand box viewable from the terrace and ideal for kids aged 0-3.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. The apartment is on 1 floor with no need for stair gates; the terrace is child-safe. With limited baby-specific gear provided, beyond a toddler bed, the property is better for those with older children, but a travel crib would certainly fit in the bedrooms. Car rental not necessary in this central neighborhood; there is no parking at the property and train, bus and metro connections are very close by.

About the Location

The residence is in the Eixample area of central Barcelona, between Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya, well connected by underground and bus and with much in walking distance. It is a 2-minute walk to La Pedrera, Casa Batllo and 15 minutes to the beach by underground. Barcelona el Prat airport is 20-25 minute drive away or 45 minutes by metro.

Accommodation Details

This 120 sq m house with terrace includes a main living room with a double sofa bed, 3 bedrooms (1 with twin bed and trundle, 1 with kingsize bed, 1 with 2 double/fullsize beds, plus an attached bedroom with 1 children's bed) and 2 bathrooms, both with shower. There is an eat-in kitchen and a dining area in the living space, plus a large terrace with lounge furniture.

Style Notes

Bright, light and modern. This highly central apartment is great for a small family and has a beautiful terrace with pot plants and terracotta tiles. The main living space includes a beautiful oval dining table and Arco-style lamp. We love the sleek modern kitchen, the stylish bathrooms and the great location for a family stay in the city.

We recently travelled to Europe to enjoy Amsterdam, Paris, Nimes (France), and Barcelona, and aside from Nimes, we used Kid&Coe properties the entire time. This unit was a favorite. Paula had proactive communication prior to our stay to understand how we wanted our kids to sleep, when we were arriving, and what our interests were so she could prepare accordingly. What a sweet person! Since we were arriving past 8pm, she gave us two different contacts to ensure we could gain access to the apartment, as well as good directions from the Metro Stop, which was located right across the street. When we arrived, we found tons of little labels in English telling us where things were, clear directions for the wi-fi, a table full of maps, coupons, and local information, and even a simple breakfast the next day! The apartment building is gorgeous and located just around the bed from the “rodeo drive” of Barcelona. There is a market nearby and a cofffeshop/bakery down below, as well as tons of restaurants. Her apartment is very bright, clean, full of great energy, and had lots of space cleared out to hang clothes. The terrace was a bonus. The washer is on the roof and a key is needed to access it, and clothes are to be hung dry. Once we figured all this out, it was charming, but it did take a little while to figure it out in Spanish. We needed the washer since it was our last leg of the trip. Because Barcelona was our last leg and we had visited the other sites during an intense heat wave, we were SO GRATEFUL that she had airconditioning and fans. My husband is 6’4 and I am 5’7, so the bed was a little hard (more like a futon mattress with a frame), so we didn’t sleep as well as we would have liked, but our kids loved their rooms and we loved the overall apartment very much. The Eixample neighborhood is a grid and has a different feel from the Gothic quarter, so at first I wished we had stayed in the Gothic section to enjoy the winding streets and architectural charm; however, after a day or two, I was glad that we could retreat to a quiet neighborhood that wasn’t overly touristy (my husband’s phone got pickpocketed on the Metro—a big problem in BArcelona and in the high touristy areas), safe, and incredibly easy to navigate. I would definitely stay here again with our family, and I can’t say enough about how terrific and accommodating our host was. Thank you so much!

Excellent location, really close to the metro, great patio area, and lots of space. The host was very nice and accommodating with arranging things for our young kids and agreeing to a late check out. Our only complaint is that the apartment wasn't as clean as we expected.

Eixample, Barcelona

Modernist buildings and beautiful boutiques

The narrow medieval streets of the old city become refreshed and modern at Eixample. Expect to see undulating buildings, architectural masterpieces and plenty of examples of Gaudi’s work in the area, including the Sagrada Familia. It’s a very central area with beautiful clothes shops, hip bars and the best of the city’s nightlife.
