Perks for the Parents

This secluded log cabin with mountain views offers a woodland sanctuary for families, with a hot tub on the deck and plenty to do nearby. You can’t see another property from the cabin - just mountains. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are a 20-minute drive away, with shops, restaurants and entertainment. Close by, family friendly attractions include horseback riding, hiking and ziplining. The Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a 6-minute drive away and perfect for families. Little Pigeon River is a particular highlight, a crystal-clear river with pull offs to park your car all up and down the river and plenty of sandy beaches where young kids can paddle and play with floats. This property has satellite TV, a DVD Player, board games and a hot tub.

Why Kids Love it

The cabin is set up with plenty of room to play inside and out, including a grassy area. There are 2 kitchens, so it’s easy to cater for a family group. Outdoors activities nearby particularly suit kindergarten and older kids: Greenbrier has hiking trails - families can hike up to 4 miles or take a shorter trail. There is a beautiful picnic area with charcoal grills, and a pavilion is located in Greenbrier. The area is also great for bike riding - bring your own or hire some locally. Note that this house is not stocked with toys and games and does not have baby care equipment.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. There are some child safety concerns in the house that make it better suited to kindergarten aged children and older. There are 3 levels of stairs and a loft with rails looking into the living area. None of the stairs are gated. There are 2 deck with railings and the garden is stepped. Young children and toddlers need very close supervision. Car rental is recommended, and there are 2 nice size level parking areas at the property. This property does not have a crib or high chair.

About the Location

The cabin is a 20-minute drive from Gatlinburg and about 6 miles from the Greenbriar section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is a mountainous area with plenty of nature to explore; Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge both have shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The closest airport is in Knoxville, an hour’s drive away.

Style Notes

Rustic cabin. The custom log cabin has views of Mt. LeConte and Greenbrier Pinnacle and is elegantly appointed with mountain charm and comfort in every room. The floors are Bavarian Cherry and the overall feel is rustic and comfortable. We love the hot tub, set so you can enjoy the woodland and mountain scene as you relax, the secluded location and the set up with multiple sitting/lounging areas, so all members of a large group have space to themselves.
