The La Fosca Residence
Perks for the Parents
A fully renovated luxury house with a spectacular garden, situated directly on Spain’s Mediterranean east coast and just a short walk from multiple beaches. It sleeps 9 + 2. Well set-up for a family stay, with a spacious and open plan kitchen and family-sized dining area. A beautiful garden overlooking the Mediterranean Sea provides a wonderful space for kids to play, while parents enjoy the view and sound of the sea. What’s more, a covered outdoor terrace in the garden makes for a great space to eat al fresco all together.
Why Kids Love it
The residence has plenty of toys and books for babies and toddlers in particular. The living space is large enough for wheeled toys (some of which the hosts have on offer) and the garden is a lot of fun for children, where they can kick a soccer ball or push a toy lawn mower! It's a very short walk from the sandy beach (on route they’ll spot the Castell De Sant Esteve castle ruins) and immediately next to a public protected park area.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 5 nights. Safety notes: the property is elevated above Camino de Ronda, with a wall at the sea side of the property and stairs (no stair gate) that lead down to a gate (with key access). This gate provides guests with access to this beautiful public footpath along Costa Brava. Landscaping prevents children from sitting/walking on most of the wall, except for a small part near the stairs. There’s also a laundry room with a modern washer and dryer, to make it an easier trip!
About the Location
The house is located just outside the town of Palamós, in the middle of Costa Brava, 1.5 hours from Barcelona airport. The area makes for a relaxing and spectacular beach vacation, and while it’s much more comfortable to explore the region with a car, there is a small grocery store, fish market, and bakery a very short walk away. The Cala de la Fosca sandy beach is just 5 minutes’ walk or you can hike along the coastal footpath to Playa El Castell beach (half an hour). It’s a great spot to explore the Emporda region and beach towns along Costa Brava; Sant Feliu de Guixols is 20 minutes’ drive and Girona is 45 minutes away.
Accommodation Details
The residence as 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. You’ll find spectacular views of the sea from the large open plan living space (living room, dining room and kitchen) and 2 of the bedrooms. The home has two primary bedrooms: an upstairs kingsize bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and shower and a downstairs queensize bedroom with another ensuite with a bathtub and shower. Also downstairs is a children's bedroom with a set of bunk beds and a single trundle, plus a crib, and a fourth bedroom with 2 single beds. Those bedrooms share another full bathroom with a shower and there is a half bathroom off of the kitchen. The hosts also have 1 double sofabed and 1 travel crib available for additional guests.
Style Notes
Natural and neutral. Bright, light and modern. The property is newly renovated, with careful attention to detail and stunning artwork from local galleries and artists. Every mattress is handcrafted and organic (Naturalmat), and the kitchen is a chef's dream: made by Bulthaup and equipped with Gaggenau appliances, a Thermomix, Nespresso machine and more. We love the sleek and contemporary tiled flooring, the warm terracotta balcony and the modern wishbone dining chairs.

Girona, Costa Brava
On the Onyar River
This historic city an hour north of Barcelona is known for its restaurants, but don’t panic if your kids aren’t into fine dining, there are fantastic bakeries and riverside cafés here too. Leave the car and stroller at home and pack comfortable shoes for a day wandering the city's cobblestoned streets, its museum and its cathedral. Then explore the coast to the north: a 40-minute drive will take you to fishing villages, Greek ruins and a castle once owned by Salvador Dali.
