Perks for the Parents

A quirky and historic Barcelona home in the Gracia neighborhood, with plenty of kids toys and a private outdoor space. It sleeps 4 + 2 in air beds. This characterful property is one of the traditional old summer houses of Barcelona - a detached home so close to the center is a rarity in this city! This is a great location for parents who are looking for the city’s world-famous art and culture: it’s just 15 minutes’ walk to the Gaudi Experience and the Gaudi House Museum.

Why Kids Love it

The hosts have 2 children, so there are plenty of toys and books for little ones to enjoy during their stay and everything is designed with kids in mind, such as the cozy bench seat at the dining table. They’ll also love the bunk beds - ideal for siblings or friends to share. The upper terrace has a play area full of toys and an inflatable paddling pool which is perfect for the hot summer days.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 nights in July & August, 2 nights across the rest of the year depending on availability. The rates include a parking space nearby, although car rental is not essential. The house is located on the ground floor, and is part of a set of detached houses, so there are no apartments above. Gracia train station is 10 minutes' drive; Barcelona airport is around 30 minutes by car.

About the Location

The residence is located in a very quiet neighborhood, specifically in a walkway that looks like a village. However, when you leave the passage, it is surrounded by shops and amenities, with the lively and busy neighborhood of Gràcia very close (10 minutes’ walk). You’ll find picturesque squares and streets to walk around, with independent ice cream parlors and charming bars and cafes nearby. It’s also just 15 minutes’ walk to Park Güell. The nearest subway stations are Joanic or Alfons X.

Accommodation Details

The house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a large kitchen connected to the dining room (with a table for 4), which also has an additional office/play area. From the living/dining room there is a direct access to the backyard, where there are steps up to an upper terrace. The primary bedroom has a queensize bed and an ensuite WC; the second bedroom has a set of bunk beds. There is also a second basic WC in the outside courtyard, under the stairs. All the rooms link off the central hall.

Style Notes

Rustic modernist. The house has a modern yet laid-back feel, with plenty of vintage furnishings and period features to create a cozy and charming space. The bedrooms have beautiful mosaic floors, and there are lots of quirky features such as exposed brick walls. We love the original ceiling cornice details, the sun-drenched outside space and the abundance of green plants throughout the home.

We are a family from Barcelona that we really like our city. Our children go to the school inside ParkGüell, so we know it very well! We like to enjoy our home and its terraces especially when the good weather comes :)

Gràcia, Barcelona

Backstreet chocolate shops and Gaudi gems

This central area borders Park Güell and is within easy reach of the city. Known as a hip neighborhood that knows how to party, its back streets are packed with independent shops and kid-friendly chocolaterias, and there are parks, swimming pools and village squares to explore. It’s around 15 minutes to the centre of Barcelona.
