This beautifully restored 1897 Queen Anne Victorian home sleeps up to 4 adults and 2 children plus baby. Steps away from a huge playground and within walking distance of quaint downtown’s restaurants and shops, the Gunnison Avenue Residence is filled with charming historical accents and cozy furnishings. The completely enclosed backyard with a lighted pergola is perfect for outdoor play and evening entertaining. Inside, the eat-in gourmet kitchen and elegantly appointed formal dining room invite families to spend time cooking and sharing meals together. We love the calming colors and cozy decor, especially suited to families with young children. Included are plenty of toys, books and a magical, secret hideaway playroom in the kids room, complete with its own child-sized doors.

What we love

  • There are plenty of children’s toys, including a pink wooden and canvas play kitchen and shopping cart
  • Children can retreat to the bright, inviting bunk bed room upstairs with angled walls and steeply sloped ceilings. A magical, secret hideaway playroom with miniature doors inspires little imaginations
  • Coffee lovers will love waking up to the separate coffee station in the kitchen that includes a drip coffee maker, a French press, and a Keurig brewer
  • The spacious master bath has individual sinks and medicine cabinets
  • Infants and toddlers will be right at home with a crib, high chair, and attached potty seat provided
  • The eat-in gourmet kitchen has hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, a wooden island with a sink, a hanging pot rack, and a KitchenAid mixer perfect for whipping up some homemade cookies
  • The enclosed outdoor dining area is perfect for safe outdoor play and includes a grill, lighted wooden pergola, and plenty of space for outdoor entertaining at night
  • Fantastic central location provides easy access to downtown as well as easy day trips to national parks, botanical gardens, museums, high desert scenery and Colorado wine country

I am an interior designer by trade but left a job in the professional field to raise my four children. My husband and I got into the vacation rental business in 2013 and love providing family-friendly homes for travelers as we are all too familiar with the frustrations of traveling with little kids in tow. We were both raised in the western area of Colorado and love playing tour guide to our travelers! Check out our website!

Grand Junction, Colorado

Red rocks and the Colorado River

Inbetween Denver and Salt Lake City, Grand Junction is the largest city in Western Colorado. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the vibrant, sculpture-lined downtown or soak up the local culture through seasonal festivals and open-air markets. Just beyond the city center, the Colorado River, majestic red rock canyons, sandstone peaks, and high desert mesas beckon intrepid travelers.
