Style Notes

Modern London. Beautifully restored, the house has been reconfigured to suit modern family life. A neutral colour scheme throughout provides a backdrop for the owners’ antique and vintage furniture and artworks. In the kitchen, a round table makes for conviviality and and marble worktops are juxtaposed with pared-back units. A small sofa in the corner of the kitchen is the perfect place for curling up with a cup of tea or glass of wine in the evening. We love the owl print and blue fireplace in the children’s bedroom, the spacious master suite at the top, with its luxurious bathroom, and the sleek modern kitchen.

We are a family of 4, with two little boys aged 4 and 2 years. I run a design and homeware business and my husband works for an NGO. Our work and interests take us abroad regularly and we love knowing that other families can enjoy the space we've created and our buzzing little neighbourhood whilst we're away!

Absolutely beautiful home, clean and filled with gorgeous gorgeous art. Beautiful kitchen, garden and delightful neighbors. Very close to everything and walking distance to nice cafe and also the train and bus. We loved staying here and would love to stay again. Thank you so much. Kate left wine and a fridge full of milk and bread. A lovely welcome note. We felt like family friends. Thank you!!!!!

We loved staying at the Glyn Road residence in Hackney! Kate was a gracious host and is clearly a talented designer bc the home is so unique & cozy. My family (11yr & 12yr kids plus my husband and mom) really enjoyed the spaciousness of the home & being close to London but getting to “live” in a non touristy area for a while (and do laundry!). We ate at local places Kate recommended as well as took the tube daily into London to explore. The only thing to consider is places in London area don’t have AC so be aware during a heatwave it could be warm, but we were fine. We’d stay at Glyn Road again and really liked how we got our own levels in the house. Kate was a very gracious host!

Hackney, London

Butterflies and a petting farm

This borough of northeast London is great for families, within easy reach of central London by Tube and with plenty to see and do, from London Fields Lido to Hackney City Farm. Clissold Park has a great kids play area and a butterfly tunnel, and if it rains, there are soft play areas and the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green to dive into.
