This duplex apartment sleeping up to 5 is well located for family fun in Upper Manhattan and includes some beautiful design touches. With white walls and a pared back palette of black, white and grey, it’s a stylish choice for a family stay and is well connected to the rest of the city for easy exploration. We love the New York themed artwork, the compact kitchen that has everything you could need - including a Nespresso machine - and the soothing bedrooms. Along with a master bedroom on the ground floor, there is an upper bedroom for kids, sleeping 3, a large living space and a teeny back yard with scarlet deck chairs for sunny days. For younger kids, the open living area is ideal, and a high chair is provided.
What we love
- Minimal master bedroom with queensized bed, a vintage school desk and a cowskin bedside table
- Kids bedroom with bunk beds and fold out single bed, train decoration on the wall and a shaggy rug
- Fully fenced-in patio/back yard with 2 folding red chairs and brightly patterned poufs
- Open plan living space with kitchen and lounge together plus small table seating 4
- Kitchen with stove, microwave, large fridge-freezer and Nespresso coffee machine
- Living room with two sleek couches, cowhide rug and a flat screen TV
- Upper bathroom with walk-in shower
- Lower bathroom with shower over the bath
- Great sense of style, with white walls, pine floors, Eames chair and New York city-themed artwork throughout the residence
- Plenty of baby gear provided, including a carrier, stroller, toys, iPod Touch, bottle warmer, and even a breast pump upon request
Things to know
- Around 15 minutes by car/taxi to LaGuardia Airport
- No car hire necessary; well connected to the rest of the city by public transport
- Free on-street parking
- The closest subway station is a few blocks away and has an elevator, so you won’t have to cart your stroller down multiple flights of stairs
- Grocery stores, drugstores and restaurants are all within walking distance
- The entrance is on the lower level and there’s plenty of space for stroller parking inside
- Additional beds can be used - there is an extra folding twin bed and a sofa bed sleeping 2 available
- Some minor hazards for young kids: the spiral staircase is ungated and the kids bedroom is upstairs while the master bedroom is downstairs. The upper bunk is high so younger kids may be better off in a lower bunk or fold out bed

Harlem, Manhattan
DJ sets and double dutch
This part of Upper Manhattan runs from the East River to the Hudson and is known for its treelined brownstone blocks and multicultural community. Stop by the Totally Kid Carousel in Riverbank State Park - it’s the only one in the world designed by kids - or enjoy impromptu concerts, DJ sets and plays in the neighborhood's many parks in the summer.
