Perks for the Parents

Set in a bohemian Art Deco neighborhood, this 3-bedroom apartment is full of color, light and vintage details, and is close to restaurants and one of the city’s most famous ice cream stores. Common areas in the apartment like the living room and dining room are spacious, convivial and have plenty of light. A housekeeper comes every 2 days to clean up and change towels; she also offers a delicious breakfast for 5 CUC per person (and less for kids) and can do babysitting.

Why Kids Love it

Set up with families in mind, the apartment has a bedroom with 2 twin beds ideal for kids, and books, puppets and small games for kids are included. The flat is in a small building of 6 properties so it’s all relatively calm, while still being in a great central location. A DVD player is also available. It’s an easy atmosphere where kids can feel at home. It is close to Coppelia, a famous Cuban ice cream shop that always has a long line out of the door.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. The apartment is on the first floor with approximately 16 steps up to it; it is on 1 level. Check-in is after 15h00 and check-out at 12h00, but the hosts can be flexible depending on other guests’ schedules. As the apartment is in a central location and has a balcony, it can be noisy sometimes. Two bedrooms are at the back and are quiet; one bedroom has a balcony and can be noisy sometimes. The balcony has a door and an iron additional door that can be locked so toddlers can't go onto it. The hosts offer 2 mobile phones for guests with 5 CUC of airtime to help you communicate during your stay. It is easy to buy a card to top up in a Cubacel office or house with an Agente de Comunicaciones sign.

About the Location

The apartment is in the exclusive Art Deco and bohemian neighborhood Vedado, a mainly residential area a few miles west of Old Havana. It is next to Habana Libre Hotel, which has a WiFi hotspot, international pharmacy, pool, supermarket, taxi rank and more, and nearby there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cinemas. It is around a 30-minute drive to Havana’s international airport. Car rental is useful: there is no parking space but you can park the car on the street safety.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment is set over 1 floor and measures 120sqm. It includes 1 bedroom with kingsize bed, 1 bedroom with queensize bed and 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds. A sofa bed and travel crib are also available. There is a lounge, kitchen/dining room, plus a balcony over the street; the two light-filled bathrooms include a tub and showers. Style Notes

Bohemian family. This light and comfortable apartment has been recently renovated and includes unique items, from local art to a combination of modern and antique objects. The owners used to run photography workshops for kids with analog cameras, and have a small exhibition in the home. Fully furnished and spacious, it has a small but well equipped kitchen with pale green tiles, a Singer sewing machine/table in the lounge, and plenty of leafy plants throughout.

We are a french-cuban couple. We live in Havana and we are both teachers. We love travels, photography and culture. Enriched by our travel experiences we wish to receive people coming to visit our favorite city the same way we have been welcomed in every place we visited so far!

Havana, Cuba

Tropical fruit, vintage cars and pirate forts

Traffic-free streets, colorful buildings and smiles a mile wide make Havana a great place to visit with kids. Don’t come expecting Disney-style theme parks and all the same conveniences as you have at home - research your trip and plan thoroughly and you’ll have a ball. Watch circus performers and puppet shows in Havana Vieja, visit pirate forts and play on tropical beaches. Eat ice cream and fresh tropical fruit, ride in vintage cars and enjoy a truly inspirational family experience.
