Perks for the Parents

This 1-level house is a lovely place for a family with open living space, connected bedrooms, and a fenced back garden, and is in the fantastic Highland Park neighborhood. There is privacy in the master bedroom, and a nice sense of separation to enjoy a movie or conversation in the front room when kids are asleep. High chair, washer/dryer and children’s dinnerware included.

Why Kids Love it

Plenty of toys and books are available for young children as well as a TV and collection of DVDs. Kids will love the fenced back garden with grass, veggie garden, baby swing and sandbox. The children's bedroom has a convertible crib/toddler bed and a children's bed is also available. There are 2 great parks for kids within a 10-minute walk, 1 across the street from a local independent café with a special area for children.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days. The house is safe with a double front door and baby-proofing throughout. There is a baby gate to the back second bedroom. There are a few steps up to the front porch and the back garden has a couple of levels but no stairs inside the house itself. Owners have a mellow and well-behaved indoor/outdoor cat (Shadow) and hope that you can enjoy his company and feed him. Parking space in driveway for 1 car.

About the Location

The residence is in the buzzing Highland Park neighborhood, walking distance to eateries including upscale pizza, French cuisine and cafés, plus an independent ice cream store and a specialty donut store. It is near a couple of children’s parks and unique boutiques for collectibles and home furnishings. Ten minutes from organic grocery stores and 1 mile to the Metro stop for Pasadena, Little Tokyo and the Arts District downtown. It is just under an hour from LAX by car/taxi.

We are an artist/writer couple who love living in northeast Los Angeles with our vibrant three year old daughter. We enjoy cooking, gardening, drawing, being in nature, camping and traveling when we can. We hope our house can be a comfortable home away from home for other families visiting LA.

Highland Park , Los Angeles

One of LA's greatest neighborhoods

Just west of Pasadena, this northeast neighborhood is the place to be in the city right now, whether you’re a young family, a hipster or something inbetween. With fantastic Mexican food, monthly gallery nights and a thriving sense of community, it’s a fun place to stay. Check out York Boulevard’s vintage stores, and treat the kids to fro-yo at Oasis Ice Cream.
