Perks for the Parents

This Beachwood Canyon house has the feel of a tree house, perched on a hill overlooking pine trees and close to hiking trails. All rooms are spacious and light-filled - we love the master bedroom and its cowskin rugs. There is a well-stocked kitchen that opens up to a bar seating area. The open living/dining room allows kids to play while parents relax or cook. The outdoor space includes a breakfast porch, patio areas with loungers, and a garden.

Why Kids Love it

There is plenty of space to play and a great back garden with a slide and mini climbing wall where kids can play. Inside there is a library of kids books, and plenty of toys and puzzles for young children. The kids bedroom has a bunkbed and toddler bed/crib. The neighborhood has a wonderful family-friendly café just down the street plus lots of trails and a reservoir and dam close by. There are 2 great playgrounds and parks a 5 minute drive from the house.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Children need to be supervised when on the breakfast porch and outside at all times, due to ungated stairs in the back and the lack of sidewalks in the neighborhood. Car hire is recommended to get the best of the city, and there is parking at the property. The crib can be adapted for use as a toddler bed as required.

About the Location

The residence is in Beachwood Canyon just northwest of downtown Los Angeles, beside the Hollywood Sign. Beautiful hiking trails and Griffith Park border the block. It takes 15 minutes to reach downtown by car and 30 minutes to reach the beaches. LAX airport is around 40 minutes away by car.

Accommodation Details

This 3 bedroom single family home in the Hollywood Hills has 1 bedroom with kingsize bed, 1 bedroom with queensize bed and 1 kids bedroom with bunkbed and crib/toddler bed. Off the kitchen, there is a breakfast porch and a multi-level outdoor area with 2 patio areas, a daybed, and a garden. There is a carport for 3 cars.

Style Notes

Contemporary and fun. The home is light-filled and has a cheerful and relaxing atmosphere. Perched on a hill overlooking the canyon and surrounded by pines and lush landscape, it has the feel of a tree house. Just 5 minutes from the heart of Hollywood up in the canyon, you feel like you are far from all the city noise and hubbub. The house has views of historic Beachwood Canyon and the Griffith Observatory.

Moved to LA in 1998, fell in love, traveled a lot, got married, bought a house in awesome Beachwood Canyon in 2006, traveled some more, made babies (2 boys), traveled a bit less... Loving life in Hollywood!

Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles

Star studded hills above the Sunset Strip

To truly soak in the mass sprawl of LA, you need a good vantage point and Hollywood Hills has just that. As part of the Santa Monica Mountains and directly north of central LA, this hilly mass of trees, gorgeous views, luxury mansions and infinity pools is where many celebs call home. Don your sneakers and go for a hike in Runyon Canyon Park, view the Hollywood sign from Griffith Observatory or by horseback at Sunset Ranch and pass by the homes of movie stars above the Sunset Strip.
