Perks for the Parents

Surrounded by nature in the bohemian and sought-after north of Ibiza, this bright family home offers classic 70s architecture and multiple terraces to enjoy outdoor living. It sleeps 8. The one-level layout means that parents can keep an eye on children while cooking or relaxing in the living areas. But when you need to escape for a quiet coffee in peace, there are multiple outdoor dining/lounging spaces all around the house. This is a quiet neighborhood favored by locals, with many world-class restaurants nearby. For days out, families will love a trip to Santa Eularia (15 minutes’ drive), a seaside town where you’ll find shops, banks, big supermarkets and a picturesque harbor where you can take boats to Ibiza town or Formentera island.

Why Kids Love it

The house has many toys and books (in English and Spanish) for boys and girls aged 3-10. The outdoor area is securely gated and fenced so kids can play outside safely. Just outside of the fenced garden there is a vegetable garden from where children can pick tomatoes, peppers, watermelons and many other seasonal delights! If they ever tire of visiting the many beautiful sandy beaches around the island, the hosts can provide information about booking extra-curricular activities for the kids such as sailing classes in Santa Eularia, horse-riding classes nearby and other outdoor daily summer camps.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 14 nights. Safety notes: the house is all on 1 level, but it has 2 steps going from the dining to the living area and 4 steps from the terrace to the garden. There are no stair gates. There is no bathtub in the house, both bathrooms have showers. There is no air conditioning but the windows all around the property help to provide a breeze and the temperature usually feels even in the height of summer. The house comes with fiber-optic connected internet and Cable TV. There is ample parking space for cars - car rental is recommended to explore the island. It’s less than half an hour to reach anywhere on the island: Ibiza Town is 20 minutes’ drive; Ibiza international airport is 25 minutes’ drive.

About the Location

The house is located in the north/central part of Ibiza, known to be the most authentic and protected side of the island. Ibiza is famous for its hippy vibe and Mediterranean barefoot luxury, as well as unique sights like the Sunday hippy markets of Saint Joan and Las Dalias, and the sunset drumming performances at Benirras beach. The house is minutes away from great restaurants like ‘La Paloma’, ‘Giri Cafe’ and ‘A mi manera’, not to mention ‘Can Curune’, a handy local bar/restaurant and supermarket-meeting place which is popular with locals. It’s also close to some of the most beautiful beaches such as Portinatx, S´illot des Rencli and Cala Nova.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set on 1 floor. There is a fully-equipped kitchen has a small dining table, with a second larger open plan dining area for family meals. This leads to a cozy living area with a fireplace, with doors to an outdoor dining table. There are 2 rooms for adults (1 double, 1 kingsize) and a cute kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeping 4 kids in total). Outside, the house has its own vegetable garden, grassy area for games and relaxing outdoor lounge space.

Style Notes

Hippy chic. The house was built in the 1970s and retains many features of that time: the terracotta tiled floors, white built-in shelves, wooden windows blinds and lots of rich wood materials in the furnishings. The decor is basic and minimal with accents of bright color to add a natural mediterranean vibe to the space. We love the brick built fireplace, the cool rattan outdoor corner sofa and the fun-filled kids room.

Hi ! I am Catalina , originary from Uruguay, I have been living in Ibiza with my husband Dean and our three kids, for the last seven years. We love the island and never get tired of it, independently of the season. I work in childrenswear design and Dean works in the gastronomic sector. We like to travel often to visit family and see new places, therefore offering our house just comes as a natural thing to do, hope you enjoy it !
