Perks for the Parents

This central apartment is great for a large family, sleeping up to 8 + 1, and is close to the harbour baths, ice cream shops and playgrounds. In a quiet location about 10-15 minutes’ walk from the city center, less by bike, it is surrounded by charming streets, cafes, restaurants and more. It is set on a canal, 75m from the water, with water views from the window.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment is in a block with a shared yard with playground, and parks and playgrounds 300m away. Nearby, Islands Brygge harbour baths are a great place to play and swim, right in the canal, for free. The apartment has plenty of toys for children from 2 to 11 years old that you may borrow. There are 3 bedrooms ideal for kids, one with a crib and one with a bed plus raised platform (best for those over the age of 6 - it is a little high). Note that as typical in Copenhagen, the bathroom has a shower only.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 4 days. For those staying for more than 1 week, a boat may be used free of charge, with guests paying for petrol. The boat is 2 km from the apartment. Car rental is not necessary for this location - parking is tricky and expensive and there are good options for public transportation nearby. Even better, rent bikes to explore the city quickly and safely. The living room has a flat screen TV with cable and access to HBO/Netflix. Internet is included.

About the Location

The residence is in Islands Brygge in central Copenhagen. This is one of the most desirable parts of the city, close to canals, ice cream shops and the heart of the city. There is a great swimming pool in the harbor nearby. Local bus transport is easy accessible and you can reach the airport in 25 minutes by metro to a station close by, or 10 minutes by taxi. Local public transport can also take you to the beach, city center and the rest of the city in a maximum of 25 minutes.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom flat is set over the ground floor and has an enclosed, shared yard with a playground. The main living space is an open kitchen with a connected living room; the kitchen is fully equipped. Bedrooms include 1 master bedroom with kingsize bed, a second bedroom with queensize bed, a nursery with a crib for up to age 3, and a kids bedroom with a single bed and raised platform bed above it. There is a good quality sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom has a shower.

Style Notes

Danish design. This spacious and bright apartment is full of Danish design treats, from a beautiful purple Verner Panton pendant light in the kitchen to the painted wooden floor, bookcase full of beautiful books, and framed prints on the wall. Pretty wallpaper enlivens one bedroom wall, while the kitchen wall has a beautiful blush pink color. We love the location, the breezy and welcoming feel, and the family appeal.

Islands Brygge, Copenhagen

It's all about the water

Ask anyone who lives in Copenhagen where they'd like to live, and it's likely to be Islands Brygge. This photogenic canalside area has cobbled streets, colorful buildings clambered over by blowsy white roses and plenty to see and do. Take the harbour bus around the city, rent a Go Boat to see off beat areas, and be sure to pack a swimsuit so you can try out the local harbour baths like a local. It's all about the water.
