The Vourkari Villa
This beautiful and simple, four-bedroom, three-bathroom villa on the island of Kea is the closest Cyclades island to Athens. Frequented by mainland locals during the summer, this is a peaceful and authentic setting for a vacation in Greece. Sleeping up to eight people, the villa is perfect to accommodate a large family or a family traveling with friends.
Getting there is relatively easy, with regular one-hour ferries from Lavrio, itself only 30 minutes by car from Athens airport. Explore the shops for local goods and Minoan treasures, tavernas and fresh seafood in the fishing village of Vourkari with the harbor only five minutes’ walk away. Discover the unspoiled island by hiking one of its many paths through the rich valleys, stand on the steps of ancient ruins, and marvel at the groves of olive trees. Back at The Vourkari Residence after a days adventure enjoy the villa itself and have a family BBQ or take a cool dip in the shared pool.

Kea, Greek Islands
Tranquility, Athenian-Style
Kea is a small, quiet island in the Cyclades archipelago. Apart from the main foreign tourist circuit, yet popular among savvy Athenian families who know how to escape the crowds, this local sanctuary with its sleepy seaside fishing villages, secluded coves, and ancient ruins just might be the best kept secret in the Greek islands.
