Perks for the Parents

A stylish family home in the popular Kensal Rise area, with a home gym, luxurious parents’ suite and parks in easy reach. It sleeps 6. The charming, down-to-earth Kensal Green neighborhood has an authentic mix of residents and visitors looking for a relaxed trip away from other tourist-heavy districts of West London. New, hip restaurants, green spaces and fast trains into the heart of the city make this a great spot for exploring the capital.

Why Kids Love it

The children’s room upstairs has a few toys and books for older kids, and there are plenty of flexible bedroom options to keep siblings separate or make room for teens or a nanny. It’s 5 minutes’ walk to the nearest park and playground or 8 minutes’ walk to Tiverton Green playground. The popular Queens Park is also under 15 minutes’ walk. For older kids and teens, there’s an independent cinema nearby, as well as a skate park.

Things to Know

No pets, parties or smoking. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. The gardener will visit occasionally to keep things tidy outdoors. The third bedroom features a double sofabed for 2 guests. The fourth bedroom has a small double sofabed best suited to kids or 1 adult. This home is ideal for families with children but please don't play ball games on the lawn. The log burner in the living room is not in use. There's a handy separate laundry room (not pictured). Three rooms will be locked in the house (1 on each floor).

About the Location

The house is located on a quiet street in the Kensal Rise neighborhood. It’s within walking distance of lots of local shops, cafes and bars, including The Island pub, Gracelands Café and Gails bakery. Kensal Rise train station is less than 10 minutes away on foot, for easy access to Euston or Kensington. Kensal Green subway station (15 minutes’ walk) is on the Bakerloo tube line to take you into Paddington or Soho in just a few stops. Heathrow airport is a 40-minute drive; Gatwick is just over an hour away by public transport or car. There is space for parking on the driveway.

Accommodation Details

This home has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. The center of the house is a large open plan living area including the kitchen, dining table and lounge space. There’s also a separate living room at the front, a study and a gym room. The bedroom on this floor features a small double sofabed (for 1). Upstairs, you’ll find 2 bedrooms (1 children’s single room and 1 bedroom with a double sofabed), 2 bathrooms (1 ensuite) and another study. The primary bedroom is on the top floor with a kingsize bed, walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom. Outside there’s a spacious patio, sheltered dining table and neat garden.

Style Notes

Contemporary cool. From a seamless blending of tones to the expanses of glass, everything here has been thoughtfully designed to maximize on space and light without compromising on comfort. Each room has been thoughtfully designed from the pastel palette and striking art in the living room to the kitchen's color contrasts, parquet flooring, and sleek island. We love the eye-catching, smoky-blue exterior, the sweeping bay windows at the front, and an impressive, industrial-style glass wall onto the patio.

Queen's Park & Kensal Rise, London

Classy streets and independent shops

Set beside a 12-hectare park of the same name, Queens Park in northwest London is known for its lovely high street, leafy streets and independent shops, just like its neighbor, Kensal Rise, which is linked by family-friendly residential streets. The journey into the city is easy - just 20 minutes by Tube - but you'll find lively eateries, cozy pubs and community events on your doorstep.
