This 2-bedroom garden-level apartment sleeps 4-6 and is well equipped with toys, books and kit for traveling families. It has a private entrance and is in the garden of an old Brooklyn town home dating to 1900, with no garden access. Inside it has a large kitchen space and is packed with amenities for traveling families, including a washer-dryer, toys and space to relax when the children are in bed. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/living space makes it easy to prepare dinner while kids play. Special treats for guests include a welcome basket with bread, butter, homemade granola, coffee and tea, and a neighborhood guide. Brooklyn Herborium products are provided in the bathroom.

Why Kids Love it

Lots of books, toys and games to play with. For babies, a crib and/or Pack’n’Play can be provided. Ablemarle Playground is directly next door and Prospect Park is a 15-minute stroll away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. Note that the ceiling height is 78"-72" in places which can make it unsuitable for taller guests. An air bed can be added. There are no safety issues for young kids. Car hire is not necessary; parking is available nearby. It is in the garden of a Brownstone property, owned by the same family, but is fully private. There is no garden access.

About the Location

Kensington is very family orientated with good food options, close to many playgrounds and parks. There is a grocery store 2 blocks away. It is approximately 30 minutes from JFK airport. F and G trains are 2 blocks away, which travel directly into Manhattan in 20-30 minutes. Prospect Park is a 15-minute walk from the apartment. Other nearby attractions include the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park Zoo and carousel, Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn Children's Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, and the LeFrak Center at Lakeside for roller and ice skating.

Accommodation Details

Two-bedroom garden-level apartment with open-plan living space with kitchen and lounge, plus separate bathroom. The kitchen has a microwave, stove and plenty of chopping space. There are 2 bedrooms, 1 with queensize bed and 1 with full/double bed. A toddler bed, travel crib and single air bed can be added.

Style Notes

Simple contemporary apartment with wood-look porcelain floors and cream walls throughout. The marble bathroom has a walk-in shower; the kitchen has modern stainless steel appliances and wooden cabinetry. The apartment is in the grounds of a Brooklyn town house dating to around 1900.
