Perks for the Parents

A colorful townhouse in Tufnell Park, with a private garden and plenty of eateries, shops and parks nearby. It sleeps 9. This is a great area to explore, within walking distance of elegant Highgate, vibrant Kentish Town and leafy Hampstead Heath. It’s just a short walk from the station for easy access into central London, with 4 parks reachable on foot - perfect for families.

Why Kids Love it

There are 3 kids rooms to choose from here, so siblings can have all the space they need. There’s a few children’s toys and books in the bedrooms to keep kids entertained too, plus underfloor heating in the kitchen/diner to keep toes cozy in the cooler months. Dartmouth park and playground is just a few minutes away on foot, and it’s an easy trip to visit London Zoo (less than half an hour by subway).

Things to Know

No parties or smoking. The lead guest must be at least 25 years old. All guests will receive a rental agreement prior to their stay which you are required to sign and submit. The sofa in the snug room overlooking the garden serves as a handy double bed if you need space for an extra guest. There is a useful sliding door to separate this area off from the kitchen, and blinds on the windows to make it feel more cosy. A dog usually lives here but is conveniently hypoallergenic, so it shouldn't cause any allergy hassle. Dogs are welcome on request, but not allowed upstairs.

About the Location

The house is located in an excellent location on the fringes of Dartmouth Park Hill, and ideally placed just minutes between Tufnell Park and Archway subway stations (both less than 10 minutes’ walk). You can either easily whizz around town, or take a scenic stroll around the leafy trails of Hampstead Heath(15 minutes’ walk), where there is an outdoor swimming pool and beautiful views over the city. It’s just 20 minutes to Kings Cross by subway or around half an hour into the west end. Heathrow airport is around 1 hour away by car or train.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. There’s a cozy living room at the front of the house, with a large eat-in kitchen at the back featuring a snug area facing the garden and doors leading to the patio. There’s also a desk, if you absolutely have to do some work. Upstairs, the bedrooms are split over 3 levels: there’s 1 kingsize room and 1 double room, as well as 3 children’s rooms. The sky blue bedroom has 1 single and 1 single trundle; the other 2 kids rooms have raised single bunk beds. The family bathroom has a freestanding bathtub and walk-in shower; the other bathroom has a walk-in shower.

Style Notes

Prints charming. This traditional townhouse is layered with striking patterns and vivid palettes, to create a comfy, inviting home. The living room channels the wholesome feel of a Victorian parlor, with cozy fireplaces and a piano. Each of the 5 bedrooms has its own character, showcasing a range of pastel tones and flamboyant wallpapers, while the vintage aesthetic of the bathroom is irresistibly quaint. We love the traditional roll-top bath, the chesterfield couch and the quirky botanical print wallpaper in the garden snug.

Kentish Town, London

Colorful streets and family fun

Just north of Camden Town, Kentish Town is regularly voted one of the best places to live in the capital. And what's not to love about its great food options, Hampstead Heath on your doorstep and pretty, boutique-filled streets? The Lido and swimming ponds on the Heath are fun if you love swimming in the summer, Camden Market and London Zoo are both close by, and it's easy to reach the city's key family attractions by train and bus.
