Perks for the Parents

This elegant beach retreat on Koh Samui includes a private sand garden, views of the sea and a large pool. This 3-bedroom beachside vacation rental includes a main house and separate bungalow bedroom, and is centered around a main outside living space, a 50sqm open-air covered sala with views of the Gulf of Thailand. The large private sand garden in front of the beach is ideal for sun worshippers and makes an easy space for children to dig their toes into the sand and play. By night, the staff transform the sun beds to an outdoor chill zone for guests with sunset views. There is also a massage sala right next to the shoreline for treatments accompanied by the sound of the sea.

Why Kids Love it

This property has plenty for kids, from the sand garden to the beach, just steps away, and a 4x8m infinity saltwater pool with shallow end and submerged sun deck. All bedrooms have kingsize beds; there is a bedroom upstairs in the main house and another downstairs. The bedroom in the separate bungalow may suit a nanny, grandparents or teenagers well. Extra beds can be added for a fee. Paddleboards and kayaks can be arranged; the reef beyond the beach is good for snorkelling too. Mae Nam beach, nearby, is known as one of Koh Samui’s most child-friendly beaches and has gentle waves. A crib is available on request for free.

A few minutes’ drive guests can be shopping in Nathon and Mae Nam, dining at restaurants along the surrounding bays, and taking jungle excursions in the tropical rainforests of Maenam. Car rental is recommended to get the best of the local area. There is parking at the property. Style Notes

Beachfront luxury. First built as a Thai fishing house on an enviable beach side plot, the property has been lovingly renovated and retains rustic charm alongside simple luxuries. Indoor-outdoor living is the key, with a large bamboo dining table set under a jackfruit tree in the outdoor space, plus loungers, white sand play spaces and wicker lampshades. A custom built western kitchen offers a luxurious cooking experience. Beds are draped in mosquito nets and are loaded with tie-dye cushions for extra comfort. We love the natural tones throughout, the sea views and the laid back barefoot luxury feel overall.

Koh Samui, Thailand

Sun, sand and mile-wide smiles

Kids are welcomed everywhere with wide grins on Koh Samui. From white sand beaches and clear water to boat trip to Ang Thong Marine Park, kayaking, snorkelling and scuba lessons for older kids, there is plenty to do in and around the sea to keep everyone entertained. Eat bananas fresh from the tree, play in the gentle waves on Mae Nam beach, and don’t miss jungle waterfalls and butterfly gardens on the island’s south coast.
