Perks for the Parents

This paradise villa with a pool is right on Big Buddha beach, with pavilion bedrooms arranged around a and tropical garden, and is fully staffed with a full time chef included in the daily rate. Located just steps from a white sand beach in northern Koh Samui, close to the Big Buddha and Samui Airport, it is a heavenly place to stay, with private access to each high ceilinged pavilion making it suit a large group or 2 families traveling together. Food is central: there is a dining room plus outdoor decking for alfresco dining, and daily breakfast is included. Relax in the double hammock in the villa’s 1,600 sqm walled garden and listen to the sound of the ocean, surrounded with lush vegetation and mature coconut and tropical trees.

Why Kids Love it

Just steps from the children’s bedrooms are a pool to splash in and a beach for sandcastle building and swimming. Note that because the bedrooms are so close to the pool, and the pool is ungated, we only recommend this villa for those with children over 6, and/or non-crawling babies, and want to highlight that non-swimmers will need extra supervision throughout. Cribs and high chairs are provided free of charge on request. A walk up the Big Buddha’s steps may tire out little legs but the view from the top is fantastic; nearby family attractions include boat tours, Samui crocodile farm, diving and snorkelling, Big Buddha market and plenty of watersports options to choose from at nearby Chaweng beach.

About the Location

Located on Big Buddha beach on the northern coast of Koh Samui, the villa is 5 minutes’ drive from the airport and 10 minutes to Chaweng. The property opens onto the 3 km white sand beach from the pool and lawn in a bay that is perfect for year-round swimming, jogging and stunning sunsets. It is a popular area with a number of restaurants, spas, small hotels and bungalows in the vicinity, and is popular with budget backpackers through to more upmarket guests. Ferries and speedboats run from the beach to the island of Koh Pha Ngan. For added protection, the beach access and the road access are covered by CCTV. There is no CCTV coverage inside the living areas of the villa to ensure complete privacy for guests. The Big Buddha himself sits on a causeway at the northern end of the beach in Wat Phra Yai, and attracts visitors from all over the world.

Accommodation Details

This large villa with a pool is composed of 2 pavilions, each with 330 sqm of living space, deck and courtyard, set side-by-side on the fringes of a white sand beach. The living room includes satellite TV and a music system, and sliding doors from all living rooms and main bedrooms open to teakwood decks. Each pavilion has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms (2 double and 1 twin), all with ensuite bathrooms. The master bedrooms overlook the beach and have sumptuous bathrooms with a secluded outdoor Balinese bath and shower. There is a third building near the entrance of the property that has the gym, the seventh bedroom and a bathroom with a tub as well as a shower.

Style Notes

Balinese luxury. The villa is decorated in Balinese style with teak wood decking, high ceilings, tropical gardens and chic finishes. All rooms are furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Shaded loungers are arranged along the pool, while soaring palm trees and decked areas provide shade. Gilded Thai furniture and accessories bring a touch of antique to the villas, with pretty cabinets and triangular cushions among the decorations. We love the large, semi-open central dining area with a view of the ocean for a family meal to remember, the tropical outdoor bathrooms and the charming bamboo-lined paths around the garden.

Koh Samui, Thailand

Sun, sand and mile-wide smiles

Kids are welcomed everywhere with wide grins on Koh Samui. From white sand beaches and clear water to boat trip to Ang Thong Marine Park, kayaking, snorkelling and scuba lessons for older kids, there is plenty to do in and around the sea to keep everyone entertained. Eat bananas fresh from the tree, play in the gentle waves on Mae Nam beach, and don’t miss jungle waterfalls and butterfly gardens on the island’s south coast.
