About the Location

Located just 90 miles from Los Angeles, Lake Arrowhead, CA has been a retreat for southern Californians for decades. In the winter there is easy access to skiing but in the summer, the lake itself is a huge draw with its sandy beaches and beach club access. Hiking trails include Heaps Peak, Heart Rock Trail and a short jaunt to Mt. Baldy to name a few. The nearest international airport is in San Bernadino, a 45-minute drive away. Lake Arrowhead town and Blue Jay are both a 10-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath home includes bedrooms on the lower level (1 with kingsize bed, 1 with queensize bed and 1 with 2 twin beds) and living spaces above it. The first floor has a living room/family room, eat-in kitchen with dining table and bathrooms with tub and showers while above it there is a loft/living space. The outside space includes a series of sunny decks on the upper levels with lounge areas, grill and dining area.

Style Notes

Modern vintage. The owners have made it their mission to decorate this house as an homage to vintage and modern design that is both functional, comfortable and relaxing. It includes gorgeous outdoor decks with views of the trees and mountains, a cute twin-bedded room ideal for kids and a main living space with pine-clad walls. We love the design touches: the arrow and tree-themed wallpaper, the inviting shaggy rugs and the squashy orange sofas in the den.

I'm a writer, editor and mom to two adorable kids and currently live in Los Angeles. Favorite travel destinations? Back to Brooklyn where our story began as a family of course but are excited that our littles are getting a little bigger so we can explore the world more. I joined Kid & Coe because they've already narrowed down the places we are looking to stay—modern, clean, interesting and of course, kid-friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lake Arrowhead Residence No 2. It was perfectly set up with lots of space for both the grown ups and kids. My two boys loved the playroom and spent hours up there! The house was very well equipped and the hosts were always very quick to reply to provide further info and tips on where to go. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back and stay again!

We loved our stay at this cozy cabin. Andie was a magnificent and very accommodating host, and offered so many helpful recommendations. The home itself is lovely, and has been perfectly decorated. We were pleased to find every possible amenity our family could need. Our two girls (ages 2 and 5) loved the books and toys, and we were grateful to have baby gates and a pack and play included with our stay! Gorgeous mountain views from the decks. It's a bit further from the actual lake than we realized, but it's very close to Blue Jay village and hiking trails. 100% recommended!

Lake Arrowhead, San Bernardino Mountains

Stunning scenery and cozy resorts

A haven for families, writers and other creatives, Lake Arrowhead nestles in the San Bernadino Mountains an hour and a half west of Los Angeles. The cozy mountain resort features skiing, hiking, fishing and stunning alpine scenery. Ride the paddleboat around the lake, meet wild animals at Wild Haven Ranch, or try out water skiing (or snow skiing) depending on the time of year. It's the perfect restorative break from the city, all year round.
