Perks for the Parents

A hidden treasure in the heart of the Alpilles, this luxurious remodelled farmhouse with a pool is close to Chateau des Baux de Provence and includes a summer kitchen and several play areas. With 5 unique bedrooms, a living room with piano, pool table and fireplace, and a separate pool house with kitchen and dining area, a relaxing stay is easy in winter or summer. A separate cabin in the garden with a double bedroom suits a nanny, grandparents or guests with a need for more privacy. The views of the Alpilles and location close to a fortified castle dating to the 10th century make it as inspiring as it is beautiful.

Why Kids Love it

The house is very well set up for children with plenty of space to play in the large, fully secure garden, which has 2 play areas with swings and slides, tree climbing equipment, wooden huts and wooden climbing frames. The pool is set away from the house and fenced. It has a beach-style entry point, ideal for younger children. There is also a games room with fussball, pinball, a jukebox and a slot machine. The nearby castle is great food for children’s imagination. Baby/toddler items include a high chair and crib; there are also 2 children's bikes and 2 adult bikes.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 days most of the year, 5 days June and September, 7 days July-August. The pool is fenced and child-safe and the garden is all enclosed. There are no stair gates provided. Some bedrooms may have access to terraces and balconies. Younger children may need extra supervision in the playground areas. Air conditioning and cable TV included. The house is a short walk from the heart of Baux-de-Provence village itself, and a 20-minute drive from Saint-Remy-de-Provence. Style Notes

Graceful and chic. Nestled in the Alpilles, the house is beautifully furnished with Provencal tones, fabulous gardens and an air of luxury. Bedrooms all take unique themes, with fleur-de-lys wallpaper in one, floral designs in another and a beach house/wood cabin feel in the garden bedroom. The main living space is cozy, set around a brickwork fireplace, and the sliding glass doors from the dining room lead to sunny terraces and lawns. We love the unique bathrooms with pretty tiles, the incredible views of the landscape, and the fantastic provision for children.

I am in love with Provence. I love the blue of the sky, the heat in Summer, the cold in Winter..the food, the people..

Les Baux-de-Provence, Provence

A crumbling castle and some unique traditions

One of the most beautiful villages in Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence is a heritage site with a crumbling 10th century fortified castle at its heart, surrounded by narrow streets, shaded village squares and unique shops. To stay here is to experience the real pleasures of the area: slow living, sunshine, vineyards and olive groves. Don’t miss exploring the ruins of the castle, with underground dungeons and occasional reenactments, and consider visiting at Christmas, when traditional processions and events make it even more beautiful.
