Contemporary classic. This beautiful period apartment has high ceilings and views of the Avenida da Liberdade. Historical details include the original stucco ceilings. My stay at The Luxury Suites Liberdade Residence could not have been better. Firstly, the location is amazing. The property is very centrally located on Av. de Liberdade, and nestled next door to the Tivoli Hotel and many designer shops. I jumped in an Uber from the airport to the apartment which took 20 mins and cost €13. There is also a Metro stop close by and services run directly and regularly from the airport to Av. de Liberdade. I was greeted by the very lovely Carla, who welcomed me warmly to Lisbon and the apartment. There is an elevator and also stairs - so easy access with kids/luggage depending on how energetic/non energetic you are feeling. Carla & Luis have an office a few floors above, which is open 9am - 5pm weekdays. They are super helpful and responsive and are also available by phone 24/7. When you enter the apartment, the first thing you notice is the size. There is a spacious living/dining room, 4 large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms (1 en-suite) and a very decent sized, fully equipped kitchen - essential for cooking up a meal for the family. There is a crib in the Master suite, and the host can provide toys on request. All guests receive a bottle of wine and some fruit on arrival (with some extras for the kids), and complimentary coffee/tea is provided also. Luxury towels and toiletries are also provided, (and robes and slippers for Kid & Coe guests). Daily housekeeping is included. The apartment itself is very stylishly decorated, with typically high ceilings. The living/dining room has doors leading to the front balconies that can be tilted and locked into place. The furniture throughout is contemporary and the bed linen is just perfect. There is no AC, but there are fans in each room. Lisbon is a buzzy city - many of the attractions are within walking distance - the Aquarium, Natural History Museum, Kidzania. You must try and see Torre de Belem, Jeronimos Monastery and the Castelo de S Jorge. Kids love the hop on-hop off famous yellow trams that ride through the city. And if you have enough time, it’s worthwhile taking a day trip to Sintra. If you want to be near the water, there are some excellent beaches about a 25 min car ride away that it seems only locals know about?! The city has a bike hire scheme called 'Gira' and you just need to download an app to your phone and away you go. The nearest bike docking station is 2 mins from the apartment. Eating out is easy - there are so many easy food places around, and kids are very welcome everywhere. A ‘must-visit’ is the Time Out Market which is a traditional market/food court and has every possible cuisine you can think of. There's a kids playground just outside the Market. It’s also very easy to eat your body weight in Pastel de nata from here: http://pasteisdebelem.pt/en/ All in all, I couldn’t recommend staying at The Luxury Suites Liberdade Residence enough. It’s the perfect pad in a perfect location for a perfect stay in stylish Lisboa! A true home away from home. Thank you to Gail, Carla & Luis for your excellent hospitality - I’ll definitely be coming back :)

The apartment in Lisboa was centrally located and spacious! Things I liked about the apartment was the staff, daily housekeeping that was included, the use of 2 cribs and a high chair. I had to give 3 stars for cleanliness because, the apartment had a strong mildew smell (particularly from one bathroom) which was difficult for someone like me, who has nasal allergies to tolerate. I think the building is older and much of the city itself had a similar smell. It probably could be concealed with some nice candles or air freshener. The beds were very hard and springy. I wished that the house had toys for my toddler and perhaps a baby bathtub. Overall, our stay was pleasant and I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Lisboa.

This was gorgeous property. Incredibly spacious, tons of light. All on one floor so great for kids. The location is perfect- right in the middle of everything. The staff was also great at arranging babysitter- Sabna is still a favorite and talked about in our house! Thank you all for a wonderful stay!

Fantastic apartment in an ideal location. Quiet, yet central; spacious and comfortable, easily works for a single larger family or even two smaller families. Great hosts who made check in and out easy and offered great advice on exploring Lisbon and around, including arranging tours and diner reservations at fabulous restaurants. Would stay again when we are back!

Lisbon, Portugal

Custard-yellow trams and soulful Fado

The Portuguese capital crowns the country, lording over the land from its seven steep hills speckled with sepia-toned Moorish castles and Baroque palaces, and set against the piercing blue of the Tagus River. Get acquainted with the city on a custard-yellow tram, a cheap-as-chips joy ride for kids of all ages, rattling past all the significant sights; or ride the landmark Eiffel Tower-like Santa Justa street lift, which trundles up to the retail heaven of Chiado.
